I posted that idea for the menus on kde-artists.org a couple of years ago, and the mockup that this video is based on is based on that.
I wish that I had follwed up on the idea, but there were too many people complaining about usability issues with it so I kind of lost my motivation for improving it or trying to get it into KDE 4.
It is nice to see that there is once again renewed interest in the idea. Now is there anyone out there willing to implement it? |

Its great, very smooth and pretty.
It should display country names though, right now it is just major cities.
Oxygen icons on the Navigation tab would be nice.
And of course, this being a KDE app, more options ;) Like the ability to turn off city names entirely.
Also, jpeg artifacts get pretty bad when you zoom in a lot. Maybe use higher quality jpg or png to make it more useful offline. An extra 2 or 3mb isnt going to make much difference to anyone but will make this app a lot better.
And I, for one, would not mind having MS world/globe/whatever they call it images for it. We are stuck using proprietary google apps for this purpose anyway, so its a step up. |

Did you tell him this was a linux site? Bill Gates signs his paycheck, and a couple of his walls were used as placeholders in vista. Good stuff though. |

in suse, you can click on an rpm and it opens in konqueror with a yast kioslave thing. you can click a button there and it will add the rpms directory as a yast repository. |

agreed, i made my root have huge fonts and ugly red colors so i would know what apps were running as root. |
