I think, one of biggest problems with linux is, that a lot of people try to make it look like XP or Mac OS X. I think, this is stupid. KDE or even Gnome looks so good (beautifull), that we don't need to hide it.

Yes, I think so, but even on winXP you can apply MacOS X theme now.

I find it funny to have winXP style without the price ...

I think its the joy of making it look like another OS but haveing the strength of linux inside. Linux becomes "stable windows" or "stable mac" :) ..except for that mac is now stable with macosx ...

OK, yeah, maybe we don't need to have all of these other OS duplicates, but I like them. I can make my Linux box look any way I please. And anyway, I think the Lunix versions look much better. 8-)

I agree that the XP windows theme is blasphemy to Linux. We want to rid ourselves of the MS look, its outdated. KDE rules!

Its always funny when some win luver is dribbling on about how cool XP looks, and ya put on the XP theme and he shuts his gob.. Its bring them one step closer to KDE/Linux

I downloaded, selected Control Center/Theme Manager/Add ... and I get the message: "Theme does not contain a .themerc nor a .theme file". What did I do wrong?

not being sure what package to use to extract in linux i extracted in windows using winzip then saved in a new directory.

then i went to mandrake 8.2 theme manager and selected the .ktheme file using the add command. i then hit apply and this worked.

hope everything works out.

I ve made the icewm style with a PENTIUM 166, the transparent part of the corner pixmap can keep the color of the background. I would like to know if it is the case with a faster computer.

We have Windows XP themes.
We have OSX themes.
We have QNX themes.
We have BeOS themes.
We have Enlightement themes.

Lets come up with something original, dear god. How many times are you going to reinvent this wheel ?

I guess there's a lack of creativity amongst theme designers. Or the creative one's haven't released their's yet.

First of All: settle down.

Second of all: BeOS had one of the cleanest and most intuitive interfaces in the OS market. OSX is simply beautiful. 85% of the users on the planet use Windows full time. (People don't like to learn new interfaces.)

How about you come with an original idea, Buddy? Or just stop complaining, why don't ya?

(I want to be clear that I don't simpathize with maker of this theme. I hate Windows and its interface. Blech.)
