Description:

Not until the advent of astronomy did we discover that Pleiades is a "loosely bound" system, while Orion is "loosed". Yet thousands of years ago, via the inspiration of God, Job told us what we would find.

Scriptural reference is from the NASB, which is a literal translation from the original Hebrew, where the Lord asks Job if he is capable of doing what He had already done.

Presented from a believer to other believers to build us all in our trust in God's Word.

Changelog:

Added second paper...Omega nebula background with smaller insets for the Pleiades and Orion.

 For you who He loves

You fellas who come here and get all worked up when you see the Lord's word in a picture, you must be hit by it in some way or another to be so upset. Forgiveness is at hand for you, Jesus said in Revelation 3:20 "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me." I was like you to until I gave up my pride and will. I confessed "I am a sinner in need of a Saviour, I ask your forgiveness Lord!" I turned from my old ways of drugs, stealing, sex, etc. all of which is SIN in the eyes of Him who is Holy. Well any hoot I'll pray for you and ask the Lord to open your eyes and reveal His Truth and love to you. Now here is what the Bible says to all men you have ears to hear.

Proverbs 1:22

How long, you simple ones, will you love simplicity? and the scorners delight in their scorning, and fools hate knowledge?

I Corinthians 1:18

For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but to us which are saved it is the power of God.

Revelation 21:6-8

6 And he said to me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give to him that is thirsty of the fountain of the water of life freely.

7 He that overcomes shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.

8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and fornicators, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

Isaiah 53:6

All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD has laid on him the iniquity of us all.

John 14:6

Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man comes to the Father, but by me.

Romans 6:23

For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Romans 10:9

That if you shall confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and shall believe in your heart that God has raised him from the dead, you shall be saved.

God blesses the one who reads this prophecy to the church, and he blesses all who listen to it and obey what it says. For the time is near when these things will happen.

Regarding your quote from Revelation...Yes, it is at hand.

As fortold in Scripture:

1). The upcoming building of the fourth temple at Jerusalem and the resumption of sacrifices.

2). The movement toward a world government. Happening.

3). The movement toward a (false) world religion. Yup.

4). The movement toward a one world economy.

5). The development of technology that would be inserted *IN" a person's hand or forehead to contain personal information and the key to buying and selling anything, according to Revelation. Experimentations on the technology have begun and are a precursor of what *will* come.

6). The formation of the EU, which is a form of revived "Roman Empire".

...and on and on and on.

But Jesus Christ remains Lord of All. This Jesus, or 'Yeshua', is spoken of in Jeremiah, Isaiah 53, Psalm 22 and elsewhere. He is the Bread of Life even as people choose to spiritually starve, the Light of the world, even while men prefer to remain blind. He is the Way, even though people want to wander around in circles, He is the Truth, even though men prefer lies. And He is the Life, even though for some reason people prefer to perish.

The end of The Book tells us how it will end. The rest of the book shows us we can *bank on it*.

Unashamed to claim His Name...

Tim

... stop that. If your religion told you must spread the "truth" to everybody, think you can offend someone or to offer unrequested propaganda. You must respect other people's opinions. I think this is part of the message of your "truth", so act consecuently and stop that.

Best regards.

Jesus said "Go forth and tell..." My paraphrase, see the end of Matthew 28.

The teachings of Paul and Jesus both included that people would be offended by the message.

My wallpaper description states that it is here for believers in Christ. There are plenty on KDE-LOOK. I'm sure the downloaders aren't turned off by it. Only the ones who choose to spend time looking at it and responding to it have a problem with it. That's a minority.

In any case, the commission of Christ remains.

People aren't forced to view this, nor return to make further comments.

The wallpaper makes a claim that the scriptures are scientifically accurate about an astronomical truth. This is what I wish you would think about.

Thanks Brahma for your input.
Tim

Is Christ yor life?, ok, try to open your brain and your eyes will show to you a beautiful world of science, not superstitions.

I don't know where you live, Tim, but I only know one country plenty of christians fanatics....USA.

Bye.

Stopping the flame (of the Hell too).

I have given you scientific facts, not superstition...unless of course, you think NASA engages in such.

The only question left (which you still have not dealt with) is "How could Job have written something that we have only recently come to discover". The terms are even technically correct terms.

Dislike the messenger if you like. It's not about the messenger but rather the message.

"superstition" is a term that is contraindicated by what the evidence shows.

Thanks,
Tim

Actually, I was thinking of making one with a trumpet theme and a psalm that says "Praise the Lord with the sound of trumpets."

Really! Thanks for the reminder.

 Meaningless

Hey tim,

I'll take your word about what the bible says and the fact that nasa uses the same terminology but lets think about the "implications" as you say.

A cluster can be bound or not. Give me any random cluster and I have 50% (assuming an equal distribution) chance of guessing corrrectly if it is bound or not. If you have to get two right your probability goes down to 25% (now regardless of the distribution, ain't probability grand). Still within the realm of a lucky guess. But lets also add the fact that the stars in the pleiades look much closer together in the sky than the ones in orion. So essentially all you have is someone who took a lucky (25%) educated (pleaides look closer together) guess and got it right. Hardly reason to infer divine intervention.

As to the assertion that bound and loose are technical terms.... They may be used in a technical sense but are hardly technical. Globular cluster, open cluster are technical terms and I have yet to see those in the bible.

Well, then you are assuming Job "knew" about "bound and unbound" systems before he even "made a guess." Then you have to assume he guessed both correctly! If you want to go in that direction, you certainly have the right to make that decision.

The problem that you will run into, eventually, is that the scriptures have many such accounts that make no sense from a purely human standpoint. This is by far not the only case where something is stated as fact before we "discovered" it.

Taken as one instance...I can see where you question. It's when you put it all together with the historical, archaeological and other evidence that this takes on more significance. But then, as I stated in the description, I put the paper here for believers, who will already recognize what I'm saying and appreciate from where it comes.

Thanks for your input. I do appreciate it.

Tim

While I may not share your beliefs, by all means keep on putting wallpapers here. I always enjoy a good discussion about religion and the bible. Although I find that the discussion quickly breaks down due to the lack of common ground between the two debating parties, I like to think that I argue my points logically and at the very least help my "opponent" refine his while he does the same for me.

In your reply you state that Job must have know about both "bound and unbound" in order to make his prediction. My point about the terms not being technical but being used technically is that it is forseable for an untrained indivdual to use those very words without any knowledge of their technical meaning. I can easily see myself call a large, spread-out group of stars unbound and close knit group bound without any knowledge of the technical use of the terms. This gets enven murkier when you consider the effect of translation. Although the use of direct translation from hebrew helps your case, a large number of linguists would argue that social context is very important in determining the proper translation of a word and todays society is very much different than that of old.

Well, thanks! I'm also glad that things didn't "break down" between us.

By the way, do you happen to have any references to those who would differ with the view I presented? I haven't heard of any.

Thanks,

Tim
