Orig colors.
Dec 4 2013  on content Mist-Redmond

Hi, can you please make a redmond theme with original color like the gtk2 theme but for gtk3.
I realy like to have a uniform theme for gtk2/gtk3/wine applications, or a good integration for wine apps with gtk2/gtk3 apps and desktop.
I'm using Mate Desktop and I've tried in settings changing the color to the original redmond theme but it only changes it for gtk2 apps. :-(
I've tried some themes like raleigh but it's not close enough to redmond.

Delimiters.
Dec 4 2013  on content Futura 1.1.0

Hi, can you please add delimiters?
I don't see the delimiters or borders like in other themes and I have to search them with the mouse until my cursor changes to the resize cursor and that for me is time wasting and a little bit frustrating.
I'm talking about both window borders and delimiters in the window that are not easy to figure them out without visual help.
Thanks.

Great theme & my thoughts.
Feb 28 2013  on content Orion

First of all I think you did a great job with this theme and I hope you'll maintain it for a long time.
Second I would like to say that I think the scroll bar is a little narrow and could be (almost) as the width of the square decoration.
And about the decoration I think on the mouse hoover effect you could add a minus [ - ] a plus [ + ] and an x [ x ] for minimize, maximize/restore and close, like a mac style. Or you could add that not just for the hoover effect but the default, either way I think is a good ideea.
Just look at it, it looks great: [ - ] [ + ] [ x ]
or ... [-] [+] [x]
Or make available the decoration for both options if you think it's a good ideea, with and without hoover effect signs/indicators.
Thanks for the theme !

Light theme?
Aug 13 2012  on content DarkCold

Hi there, I like this theme very much and I use it on my arch system, it's the best I know so far. But wold I ask to much if you would make a lighter variation like IceCold or some other name, with white-light-blue backgroud instead of black-blue one? I saw you made DarkMint variation and it's great, I dual boot Mint with Arch. I hope I'm not asking too much.
Thanks for this amazing theme and your effort and time put in it.

Download and hover effect.
Jan 30 2012  on content DarkCold

The download contains only DarkCold3 and DarkCold4 only, and in DarkCold3/4 there is no hover effect on the buttons (window decoration in xfwm4).
However the corresponding gtk2/3 theme is the best theme in my 3 years computer experience.

Re: Handling File Manager Plug Ins
Aug 28 2011  on group Free Desktop Environment

Firefox system of handling add-ons is good but it has a down side that we must overcome ! It only installs add-ons locally in your home folder and not system wide for every user. So a single user can install add-ons just for himself from the web or whatever but if you want to install it system wide then you have to do it through the package manager of your distro when it will be tested and incorporated in the repo.
This is what I think about it.

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Fork of Gnome-Panel

What about lxpanel, or xfce4panel? Anyway the file manager generally has many functions like: handles desktop icons, draws wallpaper (but in this case is not needed since you said that compiz would take care of that) mounted drivers etc..
Nautilus (to heavy) can do this as well but from the existing file managers I personally like pcmanfm, it's useful for a window manager it can be put in a autostart.sh file like this:
pcmanfm --desktop -w /path/to/image/file &
and this means that it would draw the desktop icons an the set the wallpaper in the background.
Rox can also draw desktop icons but it's a very minimal fm.

Re: Fork of Gnome-Panel
Jun 22 2011  on group Free Desktop Environment

An excellent point you made right there. I think that individual apps are more important than the DE itself (but the way these apps come together is very important for the DE), it's in the concept of modularity, in the philosophy of UNIX/Linux (for example an archive manager is not needed to be developed because xarchiver is out there, no need for file-roller from gnome or ark from kde, same goes with other apps). I was totally fine with nautilus2 and I hate the new layout of nautilus3, same with gnome-panel. There a plenty of text editors, image viewers, web browsers... etc to complete the DE. The point is that the user needs the key elements to start with:
for me is the gnome-panel like you said, a fork would be great. There are some file managers out there... but if it would be developed a new one would be perfectly fine with me. Also a theme manager is needed to handle gtk2 and gtk3 apps/ themes.
Your point is right, it's not needed to reinvent the wheel, we just need to find out what components are most crucial to this new DE. Right now the focus is at the file manager, but a road map might be needed (this should be discussed) for the future. I say this as a non developer (sadly, because I can't contribute with the coding effort).

How far?
Jun 14 2011  on group Free Desktop Environment

I know it's very too early but how much the FDE will contain? File manager, panel, GUI configuration tools and .... ?!
I know the other DE's contain a web browser, IM client, cd burner, text editor...
I just want to know if that will be let to the user to pick his/her favorite tool or it will be integrated in the DE.
