Great! I've just installed KDE 4.5.81 and what I have found?
Pager settings -> virtual desktop - Diffrent widgets for each desktop!
Yours improvment is much better than my own idea : )

- Thats why buttons inside plasmoids should appear only for the biggest. What happened when someone want to have this one huge plasmoid that is the size of the whole screen? Where are the buttons? I had this problem many times ...
Oh! Another IDEA -"full screen" button : ). It just came to me ; )

I think this should apply also to the Panels.
The size of the panel is the same when its locked or unlocked. This is not good, because when the button for changing thinks in it appear it moves some icons much closer to each other. This behavior I think its not quite good, the panel looks little different in those two different modes.
When user finally change the panel in his way (and he is happy about this) and lock it, he/she discovers that the panel looks little different. It shouldn’t be happening - it should looked the same.
So maybe two buttons would appear outside the pannel:
* configuration button
* move button

I think You right - if its not possible to implement natively in plasmoids form the KDE part, changing it in all plasmoids individually would be very difficult.
But I will leave my idea for further comments :) ... maybe in KDE 5 would bring something that would make this or make it much better :). |

I have forgotten one thing... :)
With windows we have this option already, and my proposal is just something like a clone of that.
I thing similarities with doing things on the desktop with different stuff (windows, plasmoids etc.) are welcome. Thanks to that the Desktop brings more simplicity witch I think people appreciates. |

I have forgotten - with the current way user can have only two choices
1. have the same dashboard (all desktops the same).
2. have completely different dashboard on each desktop.
The second solution is not 100% productive. Sometimes it creates duplicates on many desktops. My proposal is creating a bridge with this less 100% and 100% effectiveness. |

Totaly aware, but this is (for me) the simplest way of doing things - I guess its much clear behavior. |
