Description:

I missed in plasmoids one particular option - ability to show one plasmoid on different desktops, not necessary all at once.

With this option you can expand the desktop flexibility. Make it less CPU and Memory consume, for example - one plasmoid, not 3 on each dekstop.

Right now to put the same plasmoid on 3 different desktops I have to put 3 plasmoids :|.

I hope You like it.

 Hmm...

This is an interesting alternative to the current behavior. I assume you're aware of the options which allow you to show the same widget *set* on all desktops and/or the widget dashboard, or show a different set on each?

Totaly aware, but this is (for me) the simplest way of doing things - I guess its much clear behavior.

I have forgotten - with the current way user can have only two choices

1. have the same dashboard (all desktops the same).
2. have completely different dashboard on each desktop.

The second solution is not 100% productive. Sometimes it creates duplicates on many desktops. My proposal is creating a bridge with this less 100% and 100% effectiveness.

I have forgotten one thing... :)

With windows we have this option already, and my proposal is just something like a clone of that.

I thing similarities with doing things on the desktop with different stuff (windows, plasmoids etc.) are welcome. Thanks to that the Desktop brings more simplicity witch I think people appreciates.

Good point... I didn't mean to imply that I don't like your idea, just that for most users, what it offers is more or less already implemented, while other more pressing issues need work.

I had an idea for individual Plasma widget settings some time back, just haven't gotten around to posting it on here, but I think yours would integrate into it nicely. I'll try to remember to let you know when I post it.

I think this is a good idea. Simple to add into the plasmoids configuration options and useful for those will multiple setups.

I would make one suggestion though. Since activities are now being worked on, why not include the same options but for different activities?

Great! I've just installed KDE 4.5.81 and what I have found?

Pager settings -> virtual desktop - Diffrent widgets for each desktop!

Yours improvment is much better than my own idea : )

GREAT JOB !!!

But that's not exactly what you proposed. There is still no chance of having one plasmoid on *multiple* desktops with this (by the way quite old, kde 4.4 or so) activity solution.
