Re: Some Improvements
Jan 16 2004  on poll How do you like KDE-Apps.org?

One solution I would suggest for old comments is to have the version number of the app when the comment is made stored with the comment, and displayed beside the time it was posted. That way it is more obvious how "current" a comment is.

1 Important Feature
Jan 5 2004  on poll How do you like KDE-Apps.org?

It looks great! However, one important feature (IMHO) that is missing that other app-oriented download sites is a "mini" description for each app that is displayed when you are browsing. Personally, I don't like having to click on every app to find out what it does, the name and scaled-down screenshot aren't enough. A short summary would make browsing a lot easier.

My only other suggestion would be to anti-alias the logo. KDE-Look looks WAY better mostly just because the logo is much cleaner.

Looking at the Upload page on KDE-Look, it looks like it is possible here now, as well. Unless I am sorely mistaken .... ?

Konqueror!
Dec 11 2003  on poll Your favourite Browser?

Konqueror is my current browser, although I recently installed Firebird 0.7 and it almost won me over. The lighter firebird makes its speed comparable to Konqy on my system (while mozilla wasn't) and its interface is cleaner and better. But I still like konqy more... mainly for profiles and its file management. It's great for web development, I have profiles for various sites with a local copy, the remote site, html/css spec docs, and "ftp" tabs. The ftp tab is actually a split-screen of the ftp server and my local filesystem, allowing me to move files back and forth -- which just shows konqy's incredible flexibility. The fact that I can change from working on one site to another within the same window just by opening a different profile is wonderful!
