Nice but...

Real hackers use xdm. :)

Re: Re: Not widescreen
Jun 14 2009  on content Planet(R/G/B)

A actually already hacked it up-- Copied over a patch of stars twice to make it wide enough.

I'm coming back to this page so I can get the original picture again-- I need to tack on another copy of the image to the right, because I'm running a dual-head setup with Xinerama now and it's not wide enough. The second monitor is a square screen so I need the original. :)

1024*2720 screen res, baby!

Not widescreen
Jun 1 2009  on content Planet(R/G/B)

Looks really good, even if I do have to stretch it a bit for my monitor.

It would probably be easy to scale it up to widescreen using liquid rescale in the gimp. I'll try it later.

.
It's just a mock-up
May 11 2009  on content Upload/download in process monitor

The download is plainly labeled as "EXACT SAME AS SCREENSHOT DON'T BOTHER."

I haven't made it, even if I did make it, the GNOME people don't like to accept patches from other people from some reason. (They even turned down patches from Linus himself!)

.
Could be done by modifying GTK
Apr 15 2009  on content New Menu System

Change GTK so that you can have a "pull-down toolbar," that would make this possible.

I like the idea.

.
I like it!

If I ever go for a blue look, I'd probably pick this theme! (Hooked on dark themes right now, though.)

Wasteful of screen space
Mar 23 2009  on content GFV - Gnome Future Vision

Might be good if you've got a massive projector screen, but for a laptop, there's simply not enough room to curve the panel and lock off two corners like that.

.
Well-done mockup but...
Mar 23 2009  on content Application-Container

Already exists. It's called a "drawer." Simply add a "drawer" applet to the panel, and then it behaves like a hybrid of a pull-down menu and an extra gnome panel. You can drag and drop more launchers to it and everything.

Although, I've always wanted text labels on panel launchers.

.
Good idea. I can see two uses.
Feb 28 2009  on content new screenshot type

Use 1:
Good for making mockups of new features for Topaz Brainstorm submissions (I normally have to do this manually.)

Use 2 (probably more important:)
Good for making documentation.
