nice program
Sep 3 2010  on content iQfirewall

Hi, thanks to your program, I finally understand what all those input/output/forward tables mean in the linux firewall! And also, your program works very well, using it on debian lenny now...

vertical?
Jun 28 2007  on content New dropdown menus

it's really a good idea

i would put the upper levels not on the right of each other(horizontal i mean), but vertical.

like:
---------------
Create New
Link To Device
---------------
...suboptions
...
...
---------------

Then you can easily go back to the first level. It would be very good.

In fact this is where Kickoff got it wrong I think: you can't go up more than one level once you are in a deeper level, which is not handy at all!

Really a good idea of yours!

Re: task oriented?
Jun 8 2007  on content Kmenu Enhancements

ok, it seems someone already proposed such an idea, great!

http://www.kde-look.org/content/show.php/%22Save+session+as+a+file%21%22?content=36262

only it shouldn't really be on the desktop, but very present in the 'launch menu' in whatever form that may be.

task oriented?
Jun 8 2007  on content Kmenu Enhancements

Hello,

It would also be great to extend the principle of a 'saved session' KDE now has. You could select a few windows for example, or the current desktop, and add this to a sort of 'task'. A 'task' is a group of programs. The programs can be starting with some document already loaded, some template, or an empty document.
Wouldn't it be handy to open the task 'Develop Qt' and that all needed apps are opened at once? kdevelop, qt assistant, some helpful webpage, etc..

Or maybe in the future: So you want a new appointment: open kontact, open the appointment application's new appointment window, fill in some standard values. Now you save this current kontakt window as a task, maybe together with some other relevant open window for that task of making an appointment. In the kde menu, you should now be able to select this task to start up everything for you.

ye olde news?
Jun 8 2007  on content Kde 4 (Mockup Video)

This sort of thing is already in another mockup, and it is being worked on I read.
