I created this plasmoid for my distribution USU, because I needed notifications with pre-defined popup position detached from the panel.
The default KDE Notifications are not suitable for this, because they use X,Y coordinates to store this setting, and the position is correct only for the current resolution.

It's probably a good idea to make it corectly handle symlinks.
Currently, when I try to recursively clean up whole icon theme (which, as usual, contains lots of symlinks), it handles the symlinks as if they were svg files and creates multiple copies of the same icon in the output directory.
And the icon theme, which originally was ~34MB grows to 96MB after the "cleaning" :) |

I have been unable to find the "Shelf" plasmoid for Kubuntu with KDE 4.7.3 (and didn't know it even existed).
So... I developed my own, simpler plasmoid. -1 for Shelf :) |

Hey, I modified the source, and now it can be localized. I will post later today a link to the .deb file
