Dropping all submenus certainly would be one way to solve administrative problems with different sizes. A "search"-option for wallpapers of certain sizes should be implemented in this case.
Another suggestion: How about making up three widescreen submenus like e.g. "1280x800", "1440x900", "1900x1200" and filing the rest under "other widescreen wallpapers"?

As the above thread really seems to miss the point, I'd like to ask once again: Are there any serious pros/cons concerning a widescreen wallpaper submenu in kde-look.org?
Please do not post any ignorant "Do it yourself by resizing a given wallpaper"-proposals. We've had that already (see above).

So you still didn't get the point? It's the "out of the box"-feeling I miss when rescaling/recutting/resizing a wallpaper I've downloaded at kde-look.org.
The overall acceptance of Linux or any related OS among common end users will certainly not raise as long as we tell them "Yes, you can get anything you want, but you have to use a screwdriver and a hammer to make it work with your hardware configuration." This applies to software as well as to eyecandy.

Well, I suppose I know how to use The Gimp. Question is, should there be at least one menu shortcut to widescreen wallpapers in kde-look.org, as there is one in many other wallpaper databases?
Are there people out there willing to provide some serious pros/cons?

Hello everybody!
As widescreen displays become more and more common, I suggest to add some widescreen sections (e.g. 1280x800) to the wallpaper submenu. I used to hang around with kde-look.org a lot, but since I've bought a widescreen laptop I have to surf other sources like interfacelift.com in order to get some fine eyecandy that suits my Linux desktop.
How do you think about the lack of widescreen wallpapers at kde-look.org?

Concerning the car: I guess I know what you mean. 1:18 shrinks the coolness factor by at least 1:18. Won't impress the blondes.
Concerning NFS: Wine actually spoils the coolness factor as well.

This one reminds me of a certain Jamiroquai music video. Furthermore, the battered traffic sign in the background provides a nice kind of contrast.
