I could see it being an option in Amarok, since it controls the display of the data , but having the whitespace in the lyrics is no different than using <tables>. The data should never dictate the display. |

Could you have the script strip whitespace from the beginning (and possibly end) of the lyrics. All of the lyrics fetched have a blank line at the beginning that messes up rendering and is unnecessary. |

Works awesome. Been hoping someone would make a script like this for a while. Still having a few lyrics not showing up, but some don't even show up in a google search anyway. |

It would be nice if this plugin was configurable to not speak the message while the user is away, or while the current chat is in the foreground.
It would also be nice if the plugin could be configured to omit the text announce message if multiple messages arrive from the same contact within a certain time period (perhaps 1 minute).
Also, it would be nice if the entire string (text to announce messages, and the messages themselves) were sent to the speaking engine as one whole string. This would allow the user to configure ktts to play a female voice for female contacts, and male voices for male contacts. It would probably also do away with the pause between the announce message and the message itself, which is pretty annoying. As it is, only the text to announce messages will play in a specialized voice, and the message itself plays in the default voice*.
Other than those issues, this plugin is looking pretty good!
[*]For those of you wondering where to configure this. Open kttsmgr (its probably in the system tray). Then, under the 'talkers' tab add all voices you want available. Then, under 'filters' add a talker chooser filter and set 'Text contains' to the name of the contact you want to match, and the application to kopete. Then choose the voice you want associated. |

I'm not familiar with the limits of scripting in amarok, but would it be possible to check to see if:
*the song has changed
*the lyrics have been fetched at all (by checking the length of the lyrics)
If so, then a simple hack would be to wait X number of seconds after a song change to automatically export (if lyrics length is not 0). |

It would be nice if this script would automatically export the lyrics when they are fetched from the server. I usually just play my whole collection randomly, so its not practical to have to right click on each song and choose to export the tracks lyrics. |
