10x, feedback is welcome :-)

BTW, forgot to mention, the ebuild is marked as unstable, so if you don't have ~x86 in your ACCEPT_KEYWORDS, make sure you'll specify it when emerging, e.g:

ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="~x86" emerge gtk-qt-engine

Yes, I saw. This theme engine is amazing but does only work if the application are already open. If I open a new one I always get a buffer overflow error message :(.

 Portage Install Dir

...is usually /usr/portage. Will this package work with that structure too?

This is the local portage, PORTDIR_OVERLAY is overlayed over the main portage tree (that way you can have private/testing ebuilds).

If you'll put it in /usr/portage the ebuild will be erased during the next emerge sync (as the tree is synced to the one on the server).

Khan: If you put it in /usr/portage the ebuild will be overwritten with the next 'emerge rsync'. Consequently it's better to put it in the dir /usr/local/portage. If this dir doesn't exist, you have to creat it. After that, you have to unmark this line in your /etc/make.conf.

#PORTDIR_OVERLAY=/usr/local/portage

To do this, delete the # before the line (I think you should now that if you installed gentoo at your own :) ).

So the line looks like:

PORTDIR_OVERLAY=/usr/local/portage

After that it should work, and the ebuilds you put in this directory won't be deleted by 'emerge rsync'.

HTH, Lenz.
