 Driver database

Slightly off-topic, but related. Do you know a driver database for Linux digicams? My d41 Rollei is detected as "Concord EyeQ 4330" and works fine.

Hi,
How you make it running with Axis Cams ? If I try with your screen shot URL I have only one Pict ... but nothing more !
Please give us more details ! ;o)
Also one little thing, the archive distributed do not respect it's own documentation ... ./configure do not exists, and I make some patch to make it running because of strange calls to knotify ...
Regards,

Yes, it is still quite buggy. I am currently working hard to make it also work with firewire digital video cameras, so that you can make a webcam with it. Compile instructions:

---------------------------------
make -f Makefile.cvs
./configure
make
make install (as root)
---------------------------------

I will release another improved version in a few days. Regards

OK thanks ... but what about the access to Axis Cams ? Could you give us the exact kind of URL you use to get a video with kcam ? Because with the URL of you screen shot I only get one image and nothing more !
Thanks !

Hey Golab,
I am also in gentoo and got the same error. What i had to do to get around it was go in and comment out all the 'cout' statements in the kcam.cpp file.
i'm not sure if these were left in and an #include was forgotten in kcam.h, or if these were just for testing purposes and not removed before finalizing. (clarification from the author on this point would be great).

Either way, commenting '//' in front of all lines that start with 'cout' seemed to get it to compile for me...
though now i have new issues, cause it won't show a picture at all, or even recognize my camera. ;)

Good Luck,
-J.

 New driver and idea

by miguipda on: Mar 9 2004

Hi,

could you please develop a driver to be able using the I-Mini (triplex webcam : http://www.stayaware.com/index.php?p=view&news=1052).

Could you also generate a possibility to use more than one webcam connected on different USB port ? The idea is to be able to check both opposite doors or to pass from one webcam (from the entrance) to another one (placed in my office by example). Then I can follow what happens if somebody moved in my house.

Thanks a lot,

Thanks for your work.

Miguipda

I am new to Linux and tried to install KCam, but I failed. I don't understand the installation intructions given in the "Install"-document.

What is to do to compile and install KCam?

Robert
