If you really want to make them look cartoonish, there are several things you might want to change (right now it looks like a shiny Outline). First, make those straight lines and angles a bit more crooked. No one can draw that straight. Then, lose the shinyness - it's not cartoonish either.

In fact, just look at a few cartoons. There are huge differences in style, say, oppulent Disney painting, abstract Gendy Tartakowsky or the crispness of a manga (well, most manga I like are drawn crisply, at least).
Oh, and a last piece of advice: Don't listen too much to non-artist people like me :)

thanx for your comment but refer back to the name "gloss cartoon" i have the shine in there b/c this is the way i want them to look and i added the outline for the "cartoonish" feel

I like them much more than usual comic-style-icons. They are not ... well ... calm enough if you're trying to work... ;-)

And they are really good as they are! I like them much more than usual comic-style-icons. They are not ... well ... calm enough if you're trying to work... ;-)
