Description:

This is a grey Openbox theme.
It goes well with very cool SlicknesS GTK theme, which I provided a link to in the download section.
The link to the wallpaper is also provided, it's no longer shipped with the archive.

IMPORTANT!!!

Some newer Openbox releases suffer from a bug in splitvertical gradient, which makes Openbox crash when elements using this texture are of very small height (currently the only things I can think of are the handle element and the grip).

If You experienced a crash using this theme, please change the value in themerc file, in the line:

window.handle.width: 1

to some other, bigger value (3 is a good start).

This is a bug in Openbox, not in the theme.

Some minor color tweaks to better suit the colorscheme of the GTK theme and the wallpaper.

Thank You :) My aim was to create a bit more sophisticated theme in contrast to all the minimalistic themes found here. IMHO openbox is already minimalistic enough, the themes don't have to be like this :) I'd still like to hear a few words of criticism, so this theme could look nice and be yet more usable to us :)

I'd like to thank all the people who voted 'good' for this theme, and if some of you didn't like it, please let me know why :)

Awesome Theme

This theme looks great, but is behaving oddly for me.

Occasionally my windows lose all of their borders/decorations and start shifting down the screen by about 1/2 inch at a time.The only way to fix them is to logout and restart the session.

This is the only theme that I have tried that has this behavior. Any ideas on how to fix it?

However, I have no idea how to fix your problem :( I made that theme using documentation found on Openbox homepage. I mean, it's just a theme, it shouldn't be able to remove all decorations or shift windows as themes can't do that.

The problem is definitely the theme. It actually crashes OpenBox completely. I've found that changing the theme and doing openbox --replace will restart it fine. Without changing the theme, --replace starts OpenBox only to have it crash once more.

Maybe there is a problem reading one of the lines in the themerc file? I wish that I could figure this out.

There's nothing wrong with the theme I assure You. Instead, the problem is Your using the `openbox --replace` command when You're running Openbox. It does crashes Openbox as it tries to replace existing window manager (which is Openbox) with itself.

I'm not an Openbox developer so I have no idea how this command should work when already running Openbox, but instead of doing `openbox --replace` do `openbox --restart` or `openbox --reconfigure` if You need to restart/reconfigure Openbox while it's running.

As a side note, the restore button (the middle button that only shows when the window is maximized) of the active window has the button image as a different color than the close and minimize buttons. Restore appears as a light gray instead of black.

I know what You mean and I must say that it was intended to make that button a different color than the others when the window is maximized.

Buttons that have a 'toggle' state can be given an image color when 'toggled' and when not, and that's what I was trying to mark out making the restore button gray.

If You have any ideas on how to make it look better, I'm all ears :)

after copying the theme to ~/.themes obconf wouldn't start anymore. After deleting the theme, it all worked again. There is really something wrong with the theme.

Yes, it's because the old values are in the theme config file. Try changing them as I had written in the theme description and it should work. I've tested this myself and it solved the prolem.
