Description:

Silicon is supposed to be clean and thin.

This version is optimized for KDE 4.3. Version 2.00 adds viewitem.svg and frame/raised and bar_meter_horizontal.

This Version now also works with KDE 4.3.

Silicon is included by default in KDE 4.2.

Feel free to comment any suggestions or feedback.

Changelog:

0.1 initial release
- widget background
- panel background (unfinished)
- dialogs (unfinished)
- tooltip (unfinished)
- tasks (from heron)

0.2
- new panel background, tasks.svg optimized for it
todo: different svgs for different screen edges (waiting for newer snapshot of 4.1 to appear in OpenSuse unstable repos)
- new dialogs, tooltip
- start of an analog clock (please feedback on how to improve)

0.3
- improved panel (when used at the top/left/right)
- much better clock
- added custom notes.svg
0.6
- better panel when not used full-sized

0.9

- add svgs for: krunner, pager, systemtray (rudimetary)

- optimised: tasks, opaque dialogs (now fully svg themed)

1.0

- new clock!

- little bit better notes.svg, changed systemtray (I'd like a transparent one)

1.1

- new tasks.svg
- enhanced colors file
- new krunner, dialogs, tooltips
- much more pleasant systray

2.0

- New (more space-efficient) panel, dialogs and tooltips
- buttons / scrollbars
- kickoff (very basic)
- bar_meter_horizontal /vertical
- calendar
- viewitem

2.01
-support for KDE 4.3

p.s. I would only recommend removing the reflection effect from dialogs for 2 reasons:
- first, it looks like a bad shadowing effect when in front of a light window
- second, clicking on the reflection doesn't (can't) focus the window below. (clicking on the composite shadow clicks on the window below)

Can I suggest making the other screenshot the main icon. This theme is stunnnig and may be the best, but the one you have up as the main shot... I amost didnt even click on becuase it just looks like one pannel and there is nothing intresting about it that is clear in a little icon.

 Kubuntu-Packages

Hi, for everyone who is insterested in an easy installation of this theme (and also of slim-glow, heron, Aya and Elegance)

you can easly install it from my repository:

deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/cornelius-maihoefer/ubuntu hardy main

and install the plasma-themes-extra package.

then just change the following file ~/.kde4/share/config/plasmarc. Replace the word "default" with the desired theme-name (Silicon, in this case).

Cheers.

 Analog Clock

The analog clock renders upside down for me with this theme. I have to rotate the plasmoid 180 degrees to get it to display the correct time. Is anyone else having this problem?

Everything else works great.

 systrey bug

"1.0:(...) other systray (I hate the bug that makes the icons look stupid on transparent panels!)"

I'm using openSUSE11 with KDE4RC1 packages. Only on this theme I have black background on systemtray. On other themes systrey is themed as expected. I use compositing on Intel card.

PS. Beside this Silicon rocks! I thing it is really the best one (or it shares #1 place with Elegance theme)

Thank you very much!

I think the system tray should look better with Silicon 1.1 (I hope this gets included in the final release of KDE 4.1).

But it seems there is still a bug (I think in the nvidia Drivers) which prevents the icons from using transparency.

Does anyone know if this is going to be fixed soon?
