Description:

OS X-like theme for Linux. Includes KDE, GTK1 and 2, sounds, GAIM smileys, icons (as of v2, these are a seperate download), and a KDE Splash Screen.

Changelog:

1.0 - Initial version.
2.0 - Modified file structure, split download into two segments, rather than 1 huge file, you can now download 1 huge (~6 mb) file and one ~1.5 mb file and have the theme. The 6 meg file you'll need to download is the icon theme, IcOsX, from http://asittler.brad-x.com/kOSX/IcOsX-0.7.tar.gz
If you already have your OS X icon theme in place, you need not download this file.

Sorry about that. It's an OS X-like theme for KDE.

And I'm gonna have to move it to a server with some type of better connection.

Which is why nobody can download for a few minutes.

I apologize for taking this down immediately after putting it up, but I didin't realize how much traffic this would generate. I'm moving it to a server with a faster connection as I type, and hopefully it can stay up there (or at least not launch a massive Denial of Service attack on my main internet connection)

Should be up in around 8 minutes, on a T-1 server, rather than my 128kbps uplink DSL connection. :-(

 UP!

It's now accessible again, on a server that's connected to a T-1 internet connection. Now you all may have great fun with my creation. I apologize for any problems any of you may have had when I had to kill Apache.

New Term: kde-look effect (similar to the Slashdot effect, but with huge files and large numbers of downloaders)

Time to edit the Apache config file to allow 5 or less simultaneous connections at one time.

hey, you might want to look at Karamba and some of the themes that give the zooming rollovers for icons and stuff -- might end up with a little closer imitation of OSX when you are done!

I looked at that, and while I like it very much, I think it'll be better to wait 'til KDE 3.2 alpha 1 is out, with translucent kicker. Then maybe I (or someone else) can add launch feedback to Kicker in the OS X style, and the rollover icon enlargement (this was here in KDE 3.0, where is it now?). Who knows, this could be a new KDE branch.

Or just a stem off the current branch that takes the 3.2 code and adds OS X-ish launch feedback. Maybe someone could rewrite GTK to allow its menus to go to the top menu supported by KDE.

We could have somethin' goin' here, ya know?

I type http://asittler.brad-x.com/kOSX/IcOsX-0.7.tar.gz in my browser and I get:

Whoops. Sorry about that. I'll chmod it correctly when I get home from school and can ssh in. In the mean time, look for IcOsX elsewhere, that's the theme I'm using.

...email me a copy of the tar.gz? If someone has one? It would be great if I could have it soon, as weekends are basically the only time I can use my computer, and I'd like it installed soon.
