Description:

I took the Vista Inspirate theme by saki and changed a few of the icons that i didn't like to ones from mecenas' Alien OS X. I take no credit except for compiling it, everything else was done by saki and mecenas. you can download the original vista inspirate or Alien OS X by clicking the corresponding link at the bottom. feel free to criticize or comment on it.

If your running Linux why the hell would you want it looking like "Vista"? if you want Vista run Vista then. Hopefully I didn't offend anyone here.

And what, if all Distros start by tomorrow to look like Vista? You stop using Linux? => LOL!!!!

Because of people like you, we still have everywhere war in this world. Judging things/people by the look/faith, instead of their inner value/quality.

People like you make me sick!

If you like something, use it. If not, leave it.
* And beside: It's for free. The creator works for the community and you yell.....

There will be enough people happy with this set.

Just my 2 cents

The surface of the os isent dependent on the os, the surface should and is diverce dependent on personal taste, some like it KISS , and some like it flashy like wista and spackle their desktop with colrs and flashy glassy icons and transperent styles and so on..

But that dosent change the real dirffrences betwean the 2 os.

While im not a KISS type realy, but more of the flashy cind of flashy type, but i lowe linux and i low to learn more all the time, i use the terminal pretty often, but stil i like 2 have my desktop as flashy and glasssy as possible, and is even willing 2 pay extra just 2 have a more forcefull mashiine 2 use all of those flashy things, but thats my personal choise, and no one ells neads 2 doit if they dont want to.

I dislike these themes too. However, they can be a good way to put a familiar face on the new thing. It can make converting people easier (I've put an XP face on Linux to do that before).

I use to use Linux as my primary OS.
And for eveything but Gaming I believe that in most ways Linux is far superior.
As A matter of fact I still use it from Live CD at times when I want to goto sites that will kill A Winblows Machine.
Winblows has nothing on Linux in the Security Dept.
But I was having probs with Cedega, Wine, etc running most of the games it was to support. So that is why I went to Vista for PURE GAMING...
I'd dual boot if I had A big enough HD.
Linux is about Choice... Thats the Great Thing about Open Source Choice...
If he decides to use some Vista Stuff to make his Linux Desktop Better the big deal.
I still use GIMP and Open Office on my Winblows Box because they are far superior to anything offered by Micro$haft.
Why am I here then if I'm running Vista.
I come here for BG's, and some Icons that I can use to make my Desktop look the way I want it instead of the Defaults Winblows gives me.
And they aren't bad either.
But if somone thinks badly about me for using Windows and coming here thats their problem.
But if anyone would Look at Vista it has Alot of Open Source in it Buy the way it looks and does Stuff.
Micro$haft had to take some of Open Source Apps to fix the problems they were having with Vista.
What I'm trying to say here is Simple.
Micro$haft having to use Open Source to fix it's probs A testimony to Open Sources "GREATNESS"...
And the Open Source Community ought to be PROUD of that Fact...
And the fact that someone took A set of Vista Icons and turned them into something they like by putting their choice of OS Symbols on them Big Deal..

Your choice thats what Linux is all about...
If I'm not mistaken, CrystalXP.net
is A Open Source Site...

If it wasn't then you wouldn't be able to dwnld them for XP to make it look like Vista...
Without being "WGA"...

Or be able to get them to modify for Linux, at least not leagaly!!!

Give the man A break I still think he's done A Great Job...

And if you look at the NEW KDE4 Screen it looks an Awful lot like Vista's and I don't see anyone complaining about that...

 bigger actions icons?

Does anybody know where I could get the two Vista Inspirate konqueror toolbar buttons for "up" and "reload" either in svg format or as 128x128 png? I need huge toolbars but saki (and many others) alas only provide "actions" icons from 16x16 up to 32x32.

Want Debian Sid with spices? Get sidux at sidux.com - it simply works :)
