Description:

This is my version of Catalin Climov's kwix.
I changed the lastest release wich is a little old but on CVS is not much activity too and I couldn't get a good version form there. The admin directory is updated to the latest from kde so that you will not get the problems from the original release.
If I get some positive feedback I will try to make it compatible with the standard configuration for win decoration and maybe some glow buttons from glow (KDE CVS kwinclient)

 How odd...

It only checks if the inactive title buttons are dark enough. Active title button colour doesn't make any difference.

 compilation error

Compiling on Debian unstable, and have all the -dev packages installed for kde and QT, still get errors about missing qt files even if I point ./configure to them. Is this KDE 3/QT 3 only? or is there someone who has had this problem and fixed it?

 Compillation Error

On my Slackware 8 I got this error:

/usr/i386-slackware-linux/bin/ld: cannot find -lkdeui
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
make[2]: *** [libkcm_kwix.la.closure] Error 1
make[2]: Leaving directory `/home/serginho/LookNFeel/kwix-1.0.9tv/kcontrol'
make[1]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1
make[1]: Leaving directory `/home/serginho/LookNFeel/kwix-1.0.9tv'
make: *** [all-recursive-am] Error 2

I used the Configure method mentioned above because it make some error, too... Please, check it!

 Build process broken

by anonymous on: Jan 28 2002

I am experiencing similar problems. I found out for sure that the build and configuring process is definitely broken. I, for instance, configured it with all possible options (-with-qt-dir/includes/libs --with-extra-includes/libs etc.) and still had to manually adjust the Makefiles. What I found most strange, though, was that I configured the sources with --with-qt-dir=/usr/lib/qt-2.3.1, but looking into the generated makefiles I found '/usr/lib/qt-2.3.2(!!!)'. Since I used bash's autocompletion and double-checked everything, I can poitively rule out a mistake. Furthermore, some other paths like those pointing to the dcop2idl-compiler (or whatever you call it) seem to be hardwired.
Unfortunately, this is not the first time I experience such problems with theKompany-derived build processes. I still remember trying to compile Aethera (shudder). While beyond any doubt a great company that did and still does a lot to promote Linux in general and especially KDE, they seem to use a non-standard build process.
Back to compilation: I must admit, I finally gave up. After extensively adjusting paths in the Makefiles I now get

make[2]: *** No rule to make target `/usr/lib/kwin.la', needed by `libkwinkwix.la.closure'. Stop.

This is beyond me. Any ideas?
Er, I forgot: It's a great window decoration!

 Still No Compile

hmm.... looks like the slack and debian problems are the same. Could it be something with later versions of Automake?
