 Qt headers and libs

I've read through all the previous posts and tried all the suggestions and when I tried to configure, I get the same error.

checking for Qt... configure: error: Qt (>= Qt 2.2.2) (headers and libraries) not found. Please check your installation!

I'm running RedHat 7.2 with KDE 2.2.2-1 and have qt-devel 2.3.1-5, qt-static 2.3.1-5,qt 2.3.1-5, qt-Xt 2.3.1-5 installed and everything else in KDE works fine. Any idea's from other RedHat user's?

 QT Libs

by SaintNick on: Mar 26 2002

Score 50%

When you install the QT headers, etc... it puts them in /usr/lib/qt-3.1 or something like that.

Rename the /usr/lib/qt-### to plain old /usr/lib/qt and it should run past this point.

 MDK Newbie Howto

MANDRAKE 8.1 TEAX THEME VERY UNOFFICIAL HOWTO

For all those that got into trouble with mandrake 8.1, here is a bunch of infos for you guyz.

Before you can do the commands, you need to download the TEAX theme and uncompress it. Then open a terminal window and move to the folder containing the files. (If you do not know how to do this... read some unix shell howto's)

1. You need to type the following

make -f Makefile.cvs

If you got some problems with that, open the configuration>Packaging>Software Manager and be sure that "make" and "automake" are installed. If you're a newbie and dont know about this stuff, just do a search about 'make' and install everything (this is not a best practice but if you want it to work, well what the hell!). If you get other types of errors like

make[1]: aclocal: Command not found
make[1]: *** [cvs] Error 127
make: *** [all] Error 2

Then use the software manager and look for aclocal, it will give you a list of packages you should install...

2. Type the following:

./configure --prefix=/usr

Now again, if this ain't working, it might be cause you have missing packages. Search again in the software manager for missing packages. Install anything that looks pertinent. After all, you are there to learn!

3. Now you need to compile your stuff. This is done with the 'make' program. So type:

make

Here, it is a little trickier to identify missing components. I myself have run into recursive errors 1 and 2 and I cannot tell how I've fixed them. What do you know? I'm just a Newbie helping other newbiez.

4. Now you need to be a super user to do the final touches, so type:

su

And then enter your root password.

5. Then type:

make install

After that, the theme is ready to go!

Have fun!

 for the menu

by didouille on: Apr 1 2002

Score 50%

you need automake-1.4-20.p5.mdk

and you also need to do a

cp /usr/share/applnk/Settings/LookNFeel/teaxtrans.desktop /usr/share/applnk-mdk/Configuration/KDE/LookNFeel/
(as root)
in order to have the teax menu to appear in KDE control center.

After a reboot, you will have to do this again, or try what was explained on posts for teax 0.1.

 Mandrake 8.2(bluebir

Help! Sorry but just a newbie.

I've done everything I can, and followed the advice on this forum, but I am still hitting a problem.

When running ./configure --prefix=/usr

the script runs but eventually falls over at

checkign for rpath... yes
checking for KDE... configure error:
in the prefix, you've chosen, are no KDE Headers installed. This will fail. So, check this please and use another prefix!

What could be wrong?

 Same Problem -

This is what I did to get past the X includes error in Mandrake8.2. Went to Software Manager and installed XFree86-devel-4.2.0-10mdk and X11R6-contrib-4.2.0-10mdk and it worked. You may need others, but this is what worked for me.

 KDE 2.2.2 problem?

by fauzie on: Mar 30 2002

Score 50%

I installed TeaX under KDE 2.2.1. It works perfectly.Recently i updated my system to KDE 2.2.2.

Here is the problem:
I have 4 desktops, each with different wallpaper. When i switched from desktop 1 to desktop 2, TeaX does not capture and show the new background automatically.

Is this a problem with KDE 2.2.2?
