 unable to load

by KhasHHH on: Mar 3 2008

Score 50%

Since itask-ng was compiled and installed, i never succeeded in loading the modules.

My distro is FC7.

I have installed the 03/03's update of itask-ng, wishing it will work this time...in vain.

While I am trying to load the module, the following error pops up:

"module does not contain all needed functions."

Any idea with the reason causing this module not to load ?

thanks for those giving me a small amount of time for help...

i think one time i had the same. the problem was that thing with the folder called *-i686 which had to be renamed in *-i486 it was under ~/.e/e/module/itask-ng/

i think that was the problem which i had. but i am running ubuntu gutsy.

so perhaps just try it :)

greets

In fact that s not the problem...
I have already tried this, but then the poped up error is : unable to find the ...../*486/ directory

I have noticed that SELINUX is preventing the ldconfig bin to access my .e/e/modules/directory.

I am trying to correct this, i ll keep informed with the issue, assuming you are interested ...

Thanks

ok the 'module does not contain all needed functions' message states clearly that the enlightenment version is too old.

see menu->enlightenment->about, the version should be at least 0.16.999.41

hmm, this command

nm ~/.e/e/modules/itask-ng/linux-gnu-i686/module.so | grep e_modapi

should output
00016b38 D e_modapi
000085c0 T e_modapi_init
000083a0 T e_modapi_save
00009170 T e_modapi_shutdown
(the numbers dont matter)
otherwise something is wrong with your e. have you compiled other modules succsessfully?

Hi,
Here 's the output for the advised command:
As you can see ....

[khashhh@K-Thinkpad ~]$ nm ~/.e/e/modules/itask-ng/linux-gnu-i686/module.so | grep e_modapi
00013ad0 D e_modapi
000074b0 T e_modapi_init
00007240 T e_modapi_save
00007ff0 T e_modapi_shutdown

I am close to decide to fully reinstall enlightenment ...... !
But I really prefer not to do that !
for now I am still investigating on the reason why this particular modules does not want to work ...
For your information, I have installed winlist after itask installation and it is working great.
But I ve tried to install the screenlets modules AND : it throws exactly the same error while trying to load it !

I hope this can give you a clue and once again thanks for your time .

 Outstanding

I've been using this dock for several months, and it's by far the best "fancy dock" out there right now - Versatile, perfectly smooth zooming, and quite configurable. It was actually one of the deciding factors when I switched from KDE as my main desktop to E.

Any chance of making it so the icons (but not the entire dock) can be offset from the edge of the screen by a user-determined number of pixels? This would make it absolutely perfect for those of us with overscan, though I realize it's a fairly fringe case. Regardless, thanks for your great work, and keep it up! :-)
