visit the link above. it will tell you that you need the enlightenment-dev package installed. i.e. you need the headers of some stuff to compile the module

 show apps cur screen

 by marredesregister on: Nov 28 2007

Hello,

I would like to configure itask-ng so that it shows only the applications of the current screen and not the apps of every screen.

I didn't find any option that seems to do that.

I took a look to the source code, and modified some lines, but now, it behaves half like i want, half weird...

I would like to know if this option will appear in the near future, or if you could help me a little to modify correctly my source code?

Otherwise, i think Itask-ng is nice.

I have got another problem : in the itask-ng configuration menu, if i unset Show background box, itask-ng becomes nicer but the zoom does not work correctly anymore, do you know why?

thanks,
Mathieu

hi,
do you mean current screen or current desktop?
since it should show only the apps that are on the respective screen anyway. though i didnt try multiscreen mode since a while.
a mode to show only apps from the current desk isnt planned atm. but i may add it

are you using the current svn version, since i made a lot of chenges recently. but i want to wait till everything stabilizes before i drop the next version here. (it is stable in svn, but i want to test it a bit more)

what do you mean by the zoom doesnt work correctly. if you use it without composite you should enable the bg since otherwise there have to be too many shape calculations

cheers ,
hannes

euh, i do not know the difference between screen and desktop, perhaps i should
have say desktop. Here is an exemple :
http://mattieu.souchaud.free.fr/bazar/desktop1.jpg
There is only 1 konsole in my desktop but we can see in itask-ng every apps
that I launch on the other desktop. I would like to see only the konsole's icon.

On the stable version I tried to do this (ng_taskbar.c) :
static int _ngi_taskbar_border_check(Ng *ng, E_Border *bd)
{
if((ng->cfg->skip_dialogs && bd->client.netwm.type == ECORE_X_WINDOW_TYPE_DIALOG)
|| (bd->user_skip_winlist)
|| (bd->client.netwm.state.skip_taskbar)
|| (bd->desk != e_desk_current_get(e_util_zone_current_get(e_manager_current_get()))) // mat <==
)
return 0;
return 1;
}
at the start of e17 it work like i want, but when i switch to other desktop,
sometimes, some icons of the previous desktop stay...

I am using multiscreen but I start for each screen a new xorg-server, so i don't
think this can cause problem : if I start an app on the other physical screen it
does not appear in the taskbar of the first physical screen.

I am using svn version, but i did not update it for 1-2 month.
So I have just update it. Some things have changed, the configuration dialog seems
simplier. The "Show background box" checkbox is not here anymore, so now there is
no choice, there is no trensparency mode.

I reinstalled the release version of itask-ng : with the trensparency mode, the zoom
is working correctly!!
With the old svn version : the zoom was working like that : if you put the cursor
on an icon of itask-ng, it zooms in the icons (ok), but if you put the cursor
just between 2 icons it zooms out the icons. This was not nice at all to see.

thanks for your help,
mathieu

thanks for the option!

but your patch seems to be buggy, the icons do not appears although the taskbar seems correctly resized. See the screen shot :
http://mattieu.souchaud.free.fr/bazar/itask.jpg

I don't know why it does that.

mm, i commented just some lines in ng_taskbar.c function _ngi_taskbar_cb_desk_show and it seems to work correctly now :

{
changed = 1;
/*
it->visible = 1;
it->scale = 1.0;
evas_object_show(it->obj);
evas_object_show(it->over);
*/
ngi_box_item_show(ng, it, 1);
}
else
{
changed = 1;
/*
it->visible = 0;
it->scale = 0.0;
evas_object_hide(it->obj);
evas_object_hide(it->over);
*/
ngi_box_item_remove(ng, it, 0);

Hallo, I'm the main developer and creator of the GNU Linux distribution Geubuntu. My distro is based on E17 and it's becoming pretty famous now. Me and the Geubuntu Theme have created .deb binaries of Itask, Itask-NG and Winlist-NG. We are creating binaries for many other tools, such as Exalt, Eppp, epdf and company ;)
We'd like to be in contact with you because we'd like to include Itask and all of your others E17 apps in our distro by default. Personally, I'm having an hard time figuring out how to correctly mod the look of Itask Ng for example ;)
If you can help us maybe we could also be able to help you with coding your tools! We're part of the UEOSC, an unified group of E17 based distro and we have a lot of friends there, including many E17 devels. Hope you'll ping me back soon ;)

yay, thanks for including my stuff in geubuntu :)
I planned a big theme cleanup if someone else is going to make a theme for it. so here it goes: check out the current svn. if you need more signals to trigger animations and such, let me know :)

Hi Jeff, I didn't get it, did you modify the svn after I asked you the previous message?
COuldn't we keep in touch with each other with a messenger like application? Usually I contact people with gmessenger. Could you please subscribe to the Geubuntu Developers ML? Or maybe post a personal message to me in the forum with your email address so that I can chat with you? ;)
You can also visit the Geubuntu wiki and see my mail there.
Please, contact me as soon as you can! :D

yes, i reworked the theme yesterday and cleaned it up a lot. still missing is a more sophisticated themeability of the background (the separator is not themeable, different backgrounds for orientations, etc.)
my address is on my google-code page. i also hang out in #e and #edevelop.

best regards
