 Bumpy Black version

This greeter is really nice and up to date with the new ubuntu logo "guidelines".
Is it possible to have a black version like that old one but with your theme improvements (logo + icons + etc...) please ?

I'm glad you like it, Apelete. As for the new, "guidelines" - I can't say that I know what you mean. Can you clarify?

In regard to the "black" version you are after - Sure. I'll have a stab at it. Just explain in a little more detail what it is you are after and I'll give it a shot.

Thanks for the feedback. ;)

I'm sorry my feedback was a little confusing. As for the "guidelines" thing, I was just trying to say that this greeter goes well with the new Ubuntu startup splash logo, you know, rounded, glossy and stuff...

So what I would like to see is a version with a "bumpy" (rough) black background, not smooth, just like the Bumpy Human Black gdm theme I posted the link to (by the way, you can just re-use that theme background to adapt it...).
I hope I was clear this time, and thank you for your help !!

Hi again Apelete - A copy with your bumpy background is now included in the download. It's called 'Ubuntu Apelete Gunmetal' and I reckon it looks better than smooth.

Hi again Apelete - this is driving me nuts. I am trying to replicate the background from that theme of yours. Did you use Gimp? If so, exactly how did you do it??!

Sorry but I have to disappoint you. I'm not the author of the Bumpy Human Black gdm theme: credit must go to Greeface for that one, and if you want answers you should try to ask him.
I tried myself however with Gimp, without sucess, and it made me doubt the wallpaper was made with Gimp in the first place. Don't know if Greeface is still online around here, but you can try to ask him...

No worries - I figured it out. Gimp is my new best friend. I finally managed to recreate it (or something very similar) with Noise, Gaussian Blur, Desaturation, Bump Mapping and Colour Level modding.

Gotta love a Gimp! ;)

Thanks very much Ernz !! It wasn't necessary to call it like that, but it's funny...

Looks great! Can I somehow get the svg or something for that version of the logo? Thanks!

Hi Dagibit, glad you like the mods. Zach, the original author of the theme, seems to have included a png version of the logo used here in the theme tar.gz. Just extract one of the themes somewhere and open ubuntu.png

If you are specifically after an SVG of the Ubuntu logo, it can be found at:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Ubuntu_Logo.svg

This image doesn't have the blurring around it, but i'm sure this can be easily achieved in the Gimp.

Hope this helps! :)
