Description:

Actually i haven't used kwallet so much, or better i've emerged it and then removed. The problem i've noticed is that it can handle passwords, but is not so good as alternatives. What do you think about the possibility to improve it? Or maybe to integrate/substitute it with something like keepassx (which i use and i think is really good as password manager)

Edit (from a comment):

"I didn't mean that kwallet is not good, rather is very good and integrated with the system :)

But i think that it misses some features (that i've found for example in keepassx).

For example the possibility to access to the passwords not only by a master password but also by a generated and saved somewhere (eg usb dongle) key or the possibility to generate passwords following some kind of rules (eg. 20 chars, letters + numbers + symbols)

Another is that for example now I've inserted the password to permit kmail to access the accounts passwords, now I've opened kwalletmanager and it asks me to allow or deny it, but i could be everyone, maybe not the owner, and so I'll just need a simple "allow" to see all the passwords. I think that this is not so good for the security

Another thing i've found is that, "you can create just a password": ok, let's create a new one, i go in my wallet, select a folder (passwords), go into passwords and create a new one, for the name i set the "site" and then the password ("mypassword"), so i'll have:

name: "www.myurl.com: cover"
password: "mypassword"

I think it could be better to set a full set of informations, for example:

name: "Url"
username: "cover"
password: "mypassword"
url (click able): "www.myurl.com"
comment: "root access for ssh on port: 22"
expires: "never" (or a date, with a date it could be open the browser on that url in that date with a notice that reminds that you have to change the password)

(in keepass there is also the possibility to set an icon, an attachment and see the password's quality)

what do you think? ^^"
