This is a bug in gnome-panel not in moomex-theme.
You can try and remove "~/.gconf" (don't forget to backup it first just in case) . This should reset the gnome-panel (and the rest of gnome) settings. It's a drastic way to do it. hope it will help

 OpenOffice support?

 by mkx on: Oct 21 2007

Hi,

this theme is very well done, but it does not play well with OpenOffice. You will get black text on a black menu, just as in Firefox. Is this fixable anyway, because not seeing the OO menu is rather distracting.

By the way, I didn't like some minor things about your theme and changed the following things:

  • Changed the padding in menus to 5 pixels. Your 0px setting was letting the menus look very crowded and gave them a "cut-off" look.

  • Enabled progress bar animation

  • Removed the "striped" background in GTK trees, such as in Nautilus where even lines are differently colored than odd lines. I felt this gives the desktop an unsteady look, so I evened that out.

  • If you think my changes are for the better for everyone, I can commit them back to you if you like (or if anyone else is interested).

    Cheers,
    Matthias

    Sorry I don't know how to change OpenOffice menubar black fonts to white yet.

    I think your changes are better for everyone and I will included in the next release. I am very greatful for your comment.

    Alrighty, the changes are really minor, here's the diff:

    Quote:

    271c271
    < GtkMenuBar ::internal-padding = 0
    ---
    > GtkMenuBar ::internal-padding = 5
    283,284c283,284
    < GtkMenu ::horizontal_padding = 0
    < GtkMenu ::vertical_padding = 0
    ---
    > GtkMenu ::horizontal_padding = 5
    > GtkMenu ::vertical_padding = 5
    290a291,292
    > GtkTreeView::odd_row_color = "#FFF"
    > GtkTreeView::even_row_color = "#FFF"
    322c324
    < animation = FALSE
    ---
    > animation = TRUE

    You can use it to make a patch file if you want.

    Best,
    Matthias

    This theme requires the latest gtk2-engines(1:2.12.1-0ubuntu1). This theme works fine in Ubunut 7.10 but not for previous releases.

    your firefox theme conflicts with this theme. You should have no problem using the default firefox theme.
