Description:

A dark and simple gtk-theme.

big screenshot
http://xs.to/xs.php?h=xs224&d=08055&f=2008-02-01864.png

note
As of version 1.0 this is not a murrine-theme anymore! I got tired of the murrine-look so I switched completely to pixmaps.
I hope you like the look of the new buttons, scrollbars etc! :)

new
I've included media-control-icons for gtk that matches the Neutronium DeepBlack Style.
To use them just copy the content of the 'icons' folder to the theme dir of your current icon-theme (~/.icons/*theme*).

Changelog:

v1.2
+ metacity theme
+ kde color scheme
+ mumbles theme
+ pidgin screenlet theme
+ small theme changes
+ fixes for known issues (README)

v1.1
+ brighter progress bar
+ new sliders
+ media-control-icons

v1.0
+ now uses the pixmap engine

 few things to sort..

the theme is really brilliant
i'd use it right away tho...
there are 2 things that are really annoying

1. black on black situations in many programs:
http://pub.insanity.in/img/scrshot/black_on_black.png
http://pub.insanity.in/img/scrshot/black_on_black2.png

2. the selection color in menu / text is too dark so it's for example not really visible when u select text
http://pub.insanity.in/img/scrshot/dark_sel.png

and well i would't call it 3. since it's not that critical as the first two
it's the scrollbar, the scroller is practically not visible until mouseover

Thx for the feedback!

I don't know how you can change the fg color of the gaim contact-list. I'm not even sure if you can alter it in a gtk-theme at all (the theme itself contains no black foreground colors and other dark themes have the same problem).
If you know how to change it, please let me know!

There's nothing wrong here... select a template and you will see the white letters ;)

2/3
Well, that's probably a matter of taste. The scrollbars and highlighting colors are perfectly visible on my TFT-Monitor.
In the next few days I'll upload a version of this theme with brighter scrollbars/highlighting.

I would like to make my apps appear when I right click on my desktop just like in screenshot 2. What do I need to do?
and I would also like to configure my term to look just like on the screenshot!
sorry, just love the theme ;)

Hi, good that you got it working!

The right-click-menu is from xfce4 (the wm I use). I'm not sure but I think you can bind the menu to the right mouse button in gnome as well. In xfce the option is under:
Settings > Desktop Settings > Behavior

My Terminal
client: Mrxvt http://pastebin.archlinux.org/12847
Shell: zsh http://aperiodic.net/phil/prompt/

Hi rastiazul,

you can install this theme for your user by extracting the theme.tar.gz to the '~/.themes' folder (/home/rastiazul/.themes for example).
If the folder doesn't exist just create it (don't forget the dot in front).

Now open the gnome-theme-manager (if you use gnome) and click on 'customize'. The theme will now be available in the 'controls' tab.

good luck :)

It is possible. You just need to have gnome and the theme installed.

If you use xfce, just install the 'gtk-xfce-engine' to get the theme working.

If you use an other wm/de try this:
First you need to run the 'gnome-settings-daemon' (the daemon must be running to use gnome themes so put it in autostart). Then start the 'gnome-theme-manager' to select a theme, like I described before.

 Black on black...

I get it in firefox in the textboxes on a lot of webpages. Generally message boards.

Other than that it's a great theme. That's just a big issue.

I've updated the theme and included a firefox fix from wulax.
Just re download the theme and take a look at the readme. I hope this helps!
