Description:

A dark and simple gtk-theme.

big screenshot
http://xs.to/xs.php?h=xs224&d=08055&f=2008-02-01864.png

note
As of version 1.0 this is not a murrine-theme anymore! I got tired of the murrine-look so I switched completely to pixmaps.
I hope you like the look of the new buttons, scrollbars etc! :)

new
I've included media-control-icons for gtk that matches the Neutronium DeepBlack Style.
To use them just copy the content of the 'icons' folder to the theme dir of your current icon-theme (~/.icons/*theme*).

Changelog:

v1.2
+ metacity theme
+ kde color scheme
+ mumbles theme
+ pidgin screenlet theme
+ small theme changes
+ fixes for known issues (README)

v1.1
+ brighter progress bar
+ new sliders
+ media-control-icons

v1.0
+ now uses the pixmap engine

Thanx for making this Murrine independent sen! Me too got tired of Murrine for sometime now! This is one of my favorite dark themes, without a doubt!

 Installation Problem

I'm fairly new to Linux, and am having some problems installing themes, I've tried multiple themes from this site, and always get the same error, I love the look of this theme and would love to use it :)

It always says that it's not a tar.gz or tar archive when I select it from the "Install" list or drag it, any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Can you be more specific? What OS do u use? and what version of Gnome? If dragging the zipped file to the Theme Manager doesn't work, then extract the contents from the zip file and move the folder to your local them folder, which shud be /home/[your user name]/.themes

Note: Some themes uploaded here will have multiple styles! So you have to install them individually!

Hope that helps!

You can install gtk-themes manually by extracting the theme-archive to '~/.themes'.

To do that create a folder called '.themes' (with the dot in front) in the home directory of your user. Then open the theme.tar.gz with an Archive Manager (file-roller, squeeze etc.) and extract it to the '.theme' dir. Now open the gnome-theme-manager (if you use gnome) and click on 'customize'. The theme will now be available in the 'controls' tab.

Hey, thanks for the quick responses. I'm using Ubuntu 7.04, and Gnome 2.18.1, the second poster's method worked for me, I'll keep the multiple styles condition in mind >.>

The visibility in the theme is much better now, and I noticed some speed improvements. Keep up the good work!

Btw, which network applet are you using the bottom panel (which indicates the upload and download speed?).

At first, I wasn't sure I agreed with your choice of moving away from the Murrine engine. But yeah, very impressed; great work!
