 This is useful

This is similar to RPM Installer from Ark Linux. Does Install RPM w. Smart handle multiple RPMs like Ark?

This could be very useful on distros that have poor RPM control outside of a term. Is it limited to a distro?

In smart-install.desktop the code is;

Exec=kdesu -u root -c "smart-gui --gui install %u"

and should be;

Exec=kdesu -u root -c "smart --gui install %u"

smart-gui is the name of a package, not a smart command or option. The command is "smart" with "--gui" being the option for the gui (naturally).

It's a great little addon, and I appreciate the effort that went into this. I'd like to see this added to smart itself.

Files is for smart shipped with Ekaaty Linux which provides a secure smart-gui wrapper for smart --gui. Otherwise you can change the exec line to make this to work in your distro.

Thanks tosta, I already did. http://forums.suselinuxsupport.de/index.php?s=&showtopic=47863&view=findpost&p=206118

I know very well what the source files are of smart. I wrote the howto on smart. http://labix.org/smart/howto and documented the config options http://labix.org/smart/config-options

 used to work...

...but the updated version does not - when trying to install a .rpm (on SuSE10.2 / KDE 3.5.6) it tells me: 'Programm "xdg-su" ist nicht auffindbar' ('Programm xdg-su can not be found'). The xgd-utils are installed...

The old non xdg-Version worked perfect for me (don't ask me, why I had to 'upgrade'...), so please explain how to edit the files so I can use it again.

Thanks anyway! T'is a good thingy, once it works ;).
