Description:

I think that the spaces for toolbars and windows decorations should be optimized. I don't know how, but now too much space is wasted.

Update:
Added decoration to the bottom corners.

I suppose that heapon stands for happen.

If so , and considering that any window has a minimum size, the answer could be:

1)the same as now: some apps splits the menu bar in two lines (konqueror) and other apps cant't be smaller than menu (kontact)

2)the grab-spaces reduces until remains only the buttons

3) for even more reduction the menu font shrinks proportionally to the available space

 Intresting

This is a very intresting indea. I think people should be free to choice how to manage their own space, and this could be a cool option.

While I will agree that it is an interesting idea. I'm not quite sure about it at the same time.
#1 it decreases the space that can be used for the title. Grant it not many apps really use a lot of this space.
#2 It decreases the amount of space that users can grab the window to move it around. I personally always grab from the middle.
Even if you can grab it above the menu that space is quite small itself.

If you find menus really that space consuming, ever tried cleaning out your toolbar and replacing it with things you actually use then hide the menu?
Konqueror for example I have 11 things in my toolbar and a hidden menu:

you might also try the desktop menu bar. sadly I don't think you can have that auto-hide tho.

I personally think that
1) title is not so important, maybe an icon representing the application could be enough, or the title may scroll in the window decoration!

2) you can actually hold the alt key and grab the window where do you want

 Not sure

The idea seems good. But this seems to rely on you using a window decoration that was quite high. If you were to use something like flatknifty then it would not work. The menu bar would go below the windows decoration and look out of place.

indeed, I agree with you. But i'm not telling that this style should be the only available, but that kde4 should implement more complicated styles than now.
I think that the style should be more than a frame that you choose color and thickness.

 Love it!

I think this idea is awesome! In fact, I'd pay money to have it implemented by tomorrow. I've a few simple thoughts.

Obviously, placing the menubar below the titlebar (it's current placement) should be an option. What's more, I think that if you shrink the window so that there is not room for the title and the menu on the same line, the menubar should drop back down underneath the title bar.

As smileaf points out, this concept decreases the "handle" users have to move the window. One solution would be to make middle clicking on the menu/titlebar and dragging default to moving the window, because currently menus do not respond to middle clicks.

 Maximize

I use often use the titlebar to move around windows rather than holding down alt + mouse. Don't ask me why, I'm just used to it.
iTunes for Windows has something like this, and I have to say I really dislike it. It looks clamped (still talking about iTunes), and makes moving the Windows using the title bar much more difficult.

You actually have pretty much space to drag the window here, however I still dislike it.

But I think it could work if you maximize the window. Or at least something like this. I mean, do we need the titlebar when the window is maximized? I think no.

I agree with you about the unused space. However, I think we can put something more useful there (for example like Dreamweaver's different toolbars, here in "tabbed mdoe": http://www.x.se/t8td (old screenshot, I know)

That's sure.
Moreover Kwilliam suggested above to use the middle-button on the menu (which currently does nothing) or on the titlebar to move the window. I think that should solve the issue.

Remember that not all users have a middle button (well, only 6 % i tihnk according to the kde-look poll. However, that doesn't reflect all users).
I know Linux/KDE without the middle button is a pain, but still there are people without it. I think this solution is pretty if you think about the general user.

 Problem

Most people if used to grab the window from the middle, so if the window is small it's possible that there is not space to put the mouse and grab.

Users can grab pressing ALT + mouse, but jsut a few of them know this method or are used to it.
