Description:

DiskMonitor is a Kicker Applet of KDE that monitors free space of some disks.
Points:
Providing a fabulous and compact view of presentation like LCD.
Drawing itself with very low-flicker.

Notes:
It supports a horizontal panel of KIcker, but doesn't work in a vertical panel.
It monitors only mounted partitions now.
It doesn't support Linux LVM(Logical Volume Management).
It was tested in KDE 3.5.4 on FC5

Changelog:

0.4.1
- Enable to sort partitions by Mount-Point.
- Support USB Memory Stick
- Change range of "refresh interval time" to 5sec - 60sec.(default 5sec)
0.3.0
- Enable to change Color theme from "Settings".
- Enable to adjust the length of "mount point". "long format" is the full-path name of mount point,"short format" is it's directory name.
- Cut flicker down.

Really nice, but one question: Why can't I make it to monitor / and /home?

Oh btw, customization of the colors would be nice too :)

Hi. Thank you for your down loading the applet and useful comments.

>Why can't I make it to monitor / and /home?

Are you using Linux LVM? DiskMonitor doesn’t support Linux LVM now.

Sorry my broken English and late response.

Hi.
Thank you for your downloading.
I can’t make Debian package (.deb), because I have no Debian machine and no Debian package knowledge. But I can help you compile source files. Can you show error messages?

 Enhancement

Disk monitor is a very cool application that I searched for months.
An useful enhancement should be to allow the user to change the display order of partitions

I have several partitions (/, /home, and 3 for datas). Some of my harddisks are IDE and others SCSI. It seems that IDE ones are displayed first and it doesn't fit my habits. For example / is on a SCSI drive and it seems logical for me that the / should be the first partition displayed.

 How do you run it?

I've run './configure ; make ; make install' and didn't see any errors. Your INSTALL file says "By default, `make install' will install the package's files in `/usr/local/bin'". However I don't see any binaries there. It also isn't appearing in the list when I right click on my kicker and click on 'Add Applet to Panel'.

I did notice that the install created '/usr/local/kde/share/apps/kicker/applets/diskmonitor.desktop'. How do I get it to run?

SYSTEM:
Kubuntu (Dapper)
KDE 3.5.4
