Description:

Domino is a style with a soft look. It allows to fine adjust the shininess of the widgets by customizable color gradients.

Changelog:
0.4
* new option for indented / non indented menu items
* new option for highlighted tool button icons on mouse over
* the button look for tool(bar) buttons is now optional
* new rubberband options
* smaller tabWidget margins
* respects Gwenview's / Kicker's taskbar applet / Konversation's own mousewheel handling for scrollviews
* clipped popup menu edges, for a better look with KWin's shadows (Beryl seems not to support it).
* fixes pixmaps on PowerPC architecture
* fixes functionality of some popup QToolButtons and adapts their look and behavior to KToolBarButtons
* the content of popup menus with a side pixmap is visible again (Amarok, Digikam)
* adapts KMenu's section header style
* fixes Kickoff's tab icon alignment
* fixes possible crash with enabled text effect
* lets apps using their own label colors on tabs (if they're not defaulting to a fixed color like konsole)
* decoration: option "dark window frame" draws a darker frame
* decoration: borders are hidden when in maximized mode and moving / resizing of maximized windows is not allowed.

 GTK

Oh, I would love to have this look on GTK/Gnome.

It's about the best original Linux artwork I've seen so far...

No thanks, I used KDE from SuSE 5.3 up till the end of 2004 but I found it too cluttered over time. I still like it though, but miss the cleanness of Gnome...

 GTK still broken

I would love to have this working in firefox - it's the app I probably use the most, and even after upgrading gtk-qt-engine, domino still doesn't work. Anything that can be done about this?

This is a issue with the gtk-qt-engine. It seems it handles firefox's scrollbars differently. I can't do anything here.

 clients are broken

 by devsk on: Mar 14 2007

knutclient can't save its settings if using Domino style and can if using any other style. Sounds bizarre but its true. knutclient configuration vanishes after restart (quit, start again) if using this style. The knutclientrc file becomes zero size after quit. If I replace original rc file, and use another style, UPS is recognized and rc file is not reduced to zero size after quit. Anybody knows what's up? I have repeated the experiment 4 times. Took me long time to find this.

The problem here was, that both domino and knutclient used the global config reader. Domino changed the actual group to "KDE" to get its needed information, but knutclient doesn't use groups in his configfile and thus, with assumption it is set to the default "no group", it didn't reset it before reading.

The following patch resets the group after reading in domino:

Cool, I assume that this patch could also fix the crashes of a couple of kde games I observed, e.g. kbounce and knetwalk. If a game was finished with a new highscore the game crashed reproducible (somewhere near KExtHighscore::submitScore). But for some reasons I am unable to reproduce this bug, which was very reproducible until some weeks ago...(which is not that bad, of cause)

 bug in tab colors

 by angrymob on: Mar 14 2007

For some reason KTabWidget::setTabColor doesn't work under Domino - noticeable in, for example, Kopete chat windows, where tabs are supposed to be colored red/green to indicate talky-talky. This doesn't work in Domino, but it works in Lipstik.

 Roundness

 by Deciare on: Mar 17 2007

It is very nice that everything in this theme appears uniformly rounded and softly gradiented. ^_^ It offers a futuristic look that is neither cold nor bland...

But there's an issue with the way Beryl handles shaped windows. Mainly, Beryl doesn't try to shadow them, which means that tooltips and menus both seem distinctly lacking in depth. ^^;

This is certainly not a problem with your theme, and more likely a design issue with Beryl, but for those of us who simply must have drop shadows, would you PLEASE consider adding an option for non-rounded menus and tooltips?

I'm so sorry for making a suggestion that breaks the theme's consistency, but... But... Drop shadows!
