Description:

Konqueror(with kde-addons) uses WebArchive format to store web pages with their content in one file.

As i know OpenDocument has nearly same sructure, similar porpous ant it's widely spread(KOffice, OpenOffice). So it can be used to.

 html

I would rather like it to store the pages just in HTML + a directory with additional files (images, css) just like Firefox does. If I save a page in Firefox, i can open it later in almost anything, and it looks just like it looked before saving, and if I save it in Konqueror, I can only open it later in Konqueror... (besides, the .war extension collides with the WAR which is a Java JAR with a web application).
I don't think ODT is a right choice (although I like ODT very much as a format for office documents) - a web page in ODT won't look exactly like it looks in a browser, it will have to be fit into A4 format or something...

Both WAR and ODT formats are just compressed directory, where text info and other objects(images and etc) are stored as is. I think ability to save this uncompressed should be granted too, but my idea is about saving in a single file.

I think, that ODT format is more widely spread then WAR. And that's why it's support should be included.

You must be on a fast PC to suggest this.

OpenOffice and PDFs take a lot of time to load. HTML is very fast, and it's very lightweight.

I think what you want is a subsystem that downsamples any un-optimized images and stores external files in a . directory that's hidden by default to prevent the clutter.

For people who don't mind the wait and who need the extra space, there could even be a option to take that directory and compress it to keep things small.
