Description:

KDE4 Ozone is my idea of how the KDE4 should like.
This is inspired by my KDE Spectra concept.

http://www.kde-look.org/content/show.php?content=39630

I think that a lot of new things can be added in KDE4 that will give it a new look. All the previous versions of KDE look almost same.

I propose that the default look-n-feel of KDE4 should be called as Ozone, which can a good name. Clear and refreshing.
(Pure and Refreshing air is also called as ozone :
http://www.webster.com/cgi-bin/dictionary?va=ozone
)

The horizontal info bar on the top side will give KDE4 a UNIQUE LOOK.

"Think out of the box".

Using single SVG for the window background.

Icons when selected should have action buttons such as Cut, Copy, Paste and Send To Trash. They should also have open-with-app buttons.

KDE4 should have an improved location bar called as "Navigation Bar" wherein all the navigation buttons are situated in the same bar as I have visualized in the mock-up.
I will soon release a mock-up of what exactly this "Navigation Bar" should be.

The path should be clickable. All the visited folders are in the form of buttons. To manually type the path, double click on the "Location:" text. These buttons should behave like folder icons. You should be able to drag and drop them to create links.
On dragging and dropping these buttons in the tab-bar, a new tab should be created having that location.

An important idea I am presenting is the MENU. The info-bar situated on the top gets converted into the menu when the menu buttons are pressed. I have visualized this in the mock-up. This looks good and will give KDE a UNIQUE LOOK. This menu then can have large buttons which are easy to click.

Konqi is also used for previewing text, images and other documents. When a document is being previewed, then the info-bar should slide-up or fade-away.

There should be a provision so that playlists of different media-players can be emdedded in konqi. Even when the player is running, we should be able to update its play-list through dragging and dropping the items through konqi.

This look can also be used for other apps as well.

Anyone thought of all these ideas before.

I hope you like it.

Changelog:

Restructered the Location Bar.
Added the sidebar (which is especially used for tree-view of folders).
Included the web-browser view.
Included Embedded player in side-bar.
Included the unique menu-style view.
Included other images in a zip-file.
-----
Updated the screen-shots.
Included the example of how an application like KWrite will look like.
Other applications too can have similar look.

 Very pleasant look

while one could think about ways to consume less desktop space (as was said above), the whole appearance of buttons, colours etc. is absolutely great. This is really a professional looking design. KDE 4 should definitely have an appearance as pleasantly looking as yours. Great graphics, colourful, not just grey menu and toolbars filled with icons and separators.
