Description:

Almond is a hibrid pixmap-vectorgraphic metacity theme. it's adapt to the GTK colors. optimal: selected color is dark, normal color is light.

NEW:
only the versions with normal titlebar height are updated.
i completely redrawed the buttons. now they adapt more to the gtk colors (no desaturate), and they match more with the title bar. There was a problem: buttons seemed to shifted 1 pixel left on dark background. now its fixed. (thx to bettermentflux for warning). and now the space beneath the buttons belongs to the buttons.
No more size changeing when the window rolls up to shaded mode.

Really great work - But I must admit, I wish for two things: A. A more easily readable font B. When i saw the shots, I actually liked the inactive (white) one better than the dark one, and was therefor slightly dissapointed when I discovered the actual nature of things. In any event, keep up the good work.

the 2 thing...
A: its readable in my desktop maybe because i use 11 size font. I set the font size small because the medium size was too large for me. u can change this in the 15th and 28th line of metacity-theme-1.xml. rewrite title_scale="small" to "medium". shall it be the default of the theme either?
B: U thougth the white one is the active and the gray one is the inactive or there were two version?
Because i tried to flip the colors of the active and inactive windows and it was not good, but i plan more color versions...

one of the most beautiful metacity themes I've seen ;)

but I have the buttons at the left in order close-maximize-minimize, and it sees very ugly with the borders :(

I think you're off to a very good start here, however there are a couple of things I think could be improved. First consider increasing left_width and right_wdith to 3 or 4 pixels instead of 1, this will make resizing windows much easier than it is now. Something else that will help with the usability of the theme would be hover states for the unfocused windows so you know what button your mouse is over. Another thing is due to the highlight and colour change on the minimize and close buttons (for normal windows) it appears that they change shape when hovered over. The last thing you might want to consider is making the outline a little darker to increase the contrast between the windows and what's beneath them. I know that might sound like a lot of things but I think with some polish this will become a very nice theme!

thx the comments to everyone. there are some problems, this is the cause of the version number:)
i experienced the troube of resizing. i've seen once a mac theme with no border. it has inspired me. i know it's useless, but looks good. i will consider it.
the buttons of inactive windows has only one state, because i thought metacity cannot handle this. i will correct it.

well, i don't speak in english natively, (you may noticed that:) i'm not sure that i understand, what is the problem with the shape changeing. you mean focused or pushed state, and shape as relief or the contour of buttons?
the last problem is clearable :). i suppose you mean the bottom outline

Hopefully this will explain it better. For the "draw_normal_btn_min_overed" button the coloured highlight makes the border lighter. This makes it look like the button in growing 1 px to the left when you move the mouse over it even though the size does not change. You should make the normal window buttons work like the dialog ones where the border colour does not change on the “prelight” state. Move your mouse on and off the minimize button on a normal window a couple of times looking carefully and you should see what I mean. Hopefully this helps.

One of the top three metacity themes I've seen IMO. Perhaps the window's title bar could be a few pixels smaller. A similar height to when it is shaded would be good. Other than that it has the right balance of eye candy and simplistic style.

I'd love to see a GTK2 theme that matches this and I see you're thinking about it. Just remember to keep it simple and stylish; perhaps think about something that contrasts with the window borders rather than copying them; or not (it's your baby!).

i've already thinking about a version with thiner title bar for smaller laptop displays.
i work on the GTK. i see that many people like this theme (thx the votes), so i don't want to make a lame gtk for this metacity.
Good idea, what you suggested about that. i will remember it.
