Description:

I've tried out XGL on kde, using the GLXcompmng for effects, and I have to say it's pretty neat.

Though I think KDE should have it's own version of xglcompmgr.

Allow users to turn off effects for selected application. i.e. Games that go fullscreen, and/or use OpenGL graphics. Applications that use OpenGL graphics.

From what I can tell XGL lags these application big time. Though it could change, XGL is still in it's early stages of beta.

If you use AiXgl games will not hang.
If you use (k)ubuntu AiXgl is already with Xorg so just use beryl/compiz without Xgl.
