These are screenshots from a desktop computer looking like windows vista. Maybe some people will say that windows like look of kde are uglies, but most of people use the computer followin knowed icons or menus in specific locations.
In the effort of introduce linux in the desktop, we must help the users to make the change without pain.
After that, it is possible to add linux-kde changes.
The look is maked with
Crystal window decoration with vista buttons
vista like colors
kde_xp like icons
Some konquerors configurations
kbfx-vista

and wine

Yes, but only from within a Windows install in a VMWare Player sandbox with a Linux host. And then as little as I have to because Konq and Firefox on Linux work awfully darn nicely.

Oh, no, IE is very bad, but unfortunately there are lots of websites and web apps that only run with IE.
I think that firefox is the best browser today.

Bill Gates once said, "If you can't make it good, make it look good." It sure says a lot about his software.

It's to not scare people in the next cubicle over ;)

I know about that because I had to bring my laptop to work over the summer and scared a few inquisitive people silly when they looked over my shoulder and..."Hey! It's not Windows! What the $^%& is it?!"

The goal is to go away from windows, but most of people just know that their computers have something called "windows", full of viruses, security holes and license tied. Most of people knows too, that some icon open a word processor, other icon open a calculator, etc.
Well, in these scenes, you can find a lot of little and medium companies still using w98 without a good antivirus neither os updates or security protection.
For this companies i think this is a very good option to use linux, but it's very dificult to take the chance if you don't give them a similar environment.

this perfectly looks like vista :)

except the icons. they look bad imho. konqueror is not as slick as explorer, and these yellow icons do look bad in a good theme.

and obviously original vista has different icons :)
