Description:

There were many requests that someone should port roberTO's great gtk-theme VistaBut (http://www.gnome-look.org/content/show.php?content=32227) to KDE... so, here it is!

Well, it's not a standalone theme but a mod for Lipstik.

Instructions on how to install are included in the package.

Credit goes to roberTO21 and PaT!

Changelog:

0.2:
Custom Colored Menubar is possible now!
Fixed that underlining-bug... hopefully. If it still occurs please drop a comment.
Included Kbfx-Skin and Kickerbg

0.1b:
Thanks to loki (Pascal Bleser) the mod can be enabeld through the lipstik configuration dialogue

 Problem in OpenOffic

by arkadiusz on: Jan 29 2006

Score 50%

There is one problem with this theme style. OpenOffice.org use the menus bar (File | ... | Tools | Help) background from "Vistesque..." theme (dark blue), but can't use the font color (for the menu buttons) from this style (white).

I have black menu text color sets (for kde menus), and I can't see the text on the menu (menu bar) buttons.

The over mouse menu bar buttons (when I move mouse cursor over menu button) aren't shiny-glass too (the buttons not change).

The problem is with OO. In another applicatin everythink is ok.

Is any way to fix this problem, for example (the best way) force OO.org to use "Vistesque..." menu bar format (full - menu background, menu text, etc), or to use full own gray menu bar (and all window background) like it is in Firefox or Opera?

OpenOffice's a bitch, since it has it's own style-engine and I haven't found out a way to hack that. However, a big thanks for your great feedback, but I'm not able to fix that problem.

When i compile the "unpatched" lipstik, it compiles without any problems. I use kde 3.5.0 on Gentoo.

in lipstik.h there is
"bool _enableVitesque;" missing. Adding that to the file will make it work.

How do you add that? And where do I put Vistesque.kcsrc? I have the same make problems as the guy above... why is it so hard to install a theme? Why does the "install theme" in KDE not work?

 Taskbar font color

by zencoder on: Feb 6 2006

How in the hell did you change your taskbar font color to white? Mine are ugly, black, and unreadable. If I change the WindowText and ButtonText colors in kcontrol, the taskbar colors change to white; however, this renders my window and button fonts white and subsequently unreadable as well.

If you have Taskbar v2 installed (http://kde-look.org/content/show.php?content=31611), click on the handle, go to taskbar v2 menu -> advanced options -> use window background color for text.

This probably only works if your window color is white though, never tried with darker backgrounds.

I don't know how to remove the outlines like in the screenshots though...
