Description:

Since the nvidia-settings app doesn't have any icon out-of-the-box yet, I've built this one, using a terminal icon. 48x48 version. Made with The GIMP. Credits to Jimmac and Lokheed.

A simple way to use it:

1) Copy it to /usr/share/pixmaps:

you@linuxbox# cp nvidia_settings_48.xpm /usr/share/pixmaps/nvidia_settings_48.xpm

2) Create the menu entry:

you@linuxbox# gedit /usr/share/applications/NVIDIA-Settings.desktop

[Desktop Entry]
Name=NVIDIA Settings
Comment=NVIDIA Settings
Exec=nvidia-settings
Icon=/usr/share/pixmaps/nvidia_settings_48.xpm
Terminal=false
Type=Application
Categories=Application;System;

3) Enjoy!

Could you please contact Nvidia giving them these info, and the Icon?

Sould not be so hard for them to include it in the official package.

Ciao, Renato

Thanks for the suggestion, i don't know how they handle their designs, but i'm pretty sure they have a crew of designers who could do much better work than me :D, regarding for instance all the resolutions, and so on, actually I'm just offering a 48x48 pixels version, because I haven't the source logo then it's hard to scale for smaller resolutions and so on. But it'd be a good idea if a lot of Linux users write to nVidia asking the feature. I encourage you and your friends to do it!
