Description:

I got inspired by some plasmoids mockups I saw while surfing around.

The content frame is part of the windec. The borders are larger than the usually so thin and unreachable borders --Usability!-- but they don't look so.

Please note the styled menu button. The usual icon never reacts like the other buttons so I replaced it. (This is optional.)

Changelog:

0.6:

- Double click on menu button now close the window.

- On request, the windows can keep their round corners even when maximized.

- Config dialog re-worked. There's room for some more options.

0.5:

- Shaded windows are now more compact and looking better.

- The buttons glow the same way on active and inactive windows. That's also looking better.

0.4:

- KeepAbove and KeepBelow now have a different icon when activated.

- Button icons slightly changed --for the best, I hope. Old buttons are still available. (See README.)

 Great theme

This is a great theme, but can you please reduce the title bar size, it's too big.

Sorry, I could give you 2 pixels less in height but would it be worth mentioning? Besides, it may ruin the look --every pixel of margin isn't here just to waste space... and the buttons need place to glow, too.

Any way, I didn't notice the titlebar was so big. It's just 30 pixels high at mimimum size. This is 4 pixels more than my other windec Mallory but one pixel less my other one, Porcelain. So...

This just not a very compact windec.

May be you can give an option to specify the height.

I like it very much. It is very unique and you always graciously provide a plethora of color themes with your windecos. I would agree though that the title bar is rather large for my tastes. It would be great to be able to set size of buttons and title bar. Thanks for the contribution and all your hard work.

 Titlebar size

I looked very closely at the titlebar yesterday and I came to the conclusion that I can reduce it only by 4 pixels without having to redo all the design, especially removing the round corners. I think that would be some kind of overstatement to add a compactness switch in the config dialog for 4 pixels only.

As for reducing the buttons, that won't help. The room allocated for the title text has the same height (18px) and it can't be any smaller. It is set for a 9pt font and that's not very big on a 17" screen at a reasonable resolution of 1280x960.

 Gradients

Something I would love to see with this windeco is switchable gradients similar to that of "grover" windeco. I do enjoy the windeco as it is, don't get me wrong. Simply thinking out loud :). Thanks again.

When I read the word "gradient" without knowing exactly what Grover looked like, I got some ideas.

First, I won't implement anything like Grover because I want to keep the flat look... but there are many ways I can tune the gradients I use to obtain various effects. For example, I can change the direction of the apparent lightning --only top left for now--, I can make the window look like concave or convex --instead of only flat--, etc, etc.

My mind is running wild and I need to code something right now. Keep on thinking out loud. ;-)

I discovered this also. The solution is very simple: Remove any reference to Powder::Flashy.kcsrc.tar.bz2 from Makefile.in. Redo the configure, the Makefile will be re-built and everything will work as expected.

For some reason this file found its way in but I didn't noticed. :-(

I also uploaded a new archive.
