Description:

This theme is inspired by the look and feel of a new car. It's not finished, but it's useable. Here's the issues I know of:

1.) Use a 10pt Windows Title font. The buttons don't always align properly at other sizes.

2.) Renaming files in Nautilus is weird; font color is same as background.

I'll look into both in the future, but I'm currently working on a new theme.

Funny enough, it was one of those ugly new way overstyled pickup trucks.

I got stuck behind one in traffic and was thinking "All that paint and chrome is wasted on that thing".

I love this theme but unfortunately there are many instances where the text is unreadable on the background. For example, the text box entry in xchat, and even in xfcalendar there are places...

I wish this could be fixed :(

How do I know the past isn't fiction designed to account for the discrepancy between my immediate physical sensations and my state of mind?

I will attempt to correct this as much as I can, but there's only so much I can do with this GTK engine.

I will be making a lighter version of this theme (gold colored with black text), which shouldn't have problems like this. Probably be out in a week or two, after I get a few other things done.

Because of bg[NORMAL] you have to have a light fg[NORMAL] which in turn basically means you have to go with a dark base[NORMAL](I used the lighter shade of the menubar) and treeview. I changed it that way and like it better, but then, I like dark themes. Just stinks if you are doing a lot of internet or text editing. Wait...what else is there to do? LOL

On the subject of gtk font limitations, see this
http://gnomesupport.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=8589&highlight=
Man I hope the cairo-gtk-engine doesn't do this to us! Using this GtkLabel helps in some areas, but still, we are mega limited. There has to be more. Just need someone to tell us, or we have to dig it up ourselves.

Thanks for pointing me to that thread. Should help a bit, at least.

By the way, I've grabbed the pixmap source in the current release of GTK, and it does appear to be within my abilities to fix it up a bit, but I'm not really sure if that's the best route - a new combined pixmap+svg and line/gradient drawing engine might be a better solution than a just a tweaked up pixmap theme.

Just a thought, especially with cairo hardware support eventually coming down the line - most of the stuff in my last theme could have been done with a few simple drawing operations that way - without images.

when are you going to update and fix this theme. The evident problems with this theme occurs with font colors. fonts in certain areas and apps are un readable. PLEASE I BEG YOU... I LOVE THIS theme... but i can't use it cause of the font color issue...if you take the time to fix it, you'd be benefiting the open source community and creating a great looking desktop that puts windows vista default look to shame imho
