Description:

Comix flat style for KDE 3.2+.

I hope this adds a little more fun to your desktop.
Thanks to all the authors of previous styles published for KDE. Please read AUTHORS, README and TODO.

Use the styles configuration button to overwrite the contour drawing color.
Use KDEs ControlCenter "Colors" dialog to adjust buttons- and highlight-color as well as the contrast.
Use kcontrols window decoration config-dialog to adjust title alignment and border width.

Also check the corresponding cursor theme at: http://www.kde-look.org/content/show.php?content=32627

hi there,
do you have the xorg development package installed? That is
"rpm -qv xorg-x11-devel"
The .h-files are in /usr/X11R6/include on my box.

Ok. thanks. I installed X11-devel with yum. Now I am getting this error when I run ./configure:

checking for Qt... configure: error: Qt (>= Qt 3.2) (headers and libraries) not found. Please check your installation!

I looked at the RPMs on my CDs, I didn't see any for qt-headers and qt-libraries. Could you tell me which RPMs to install? Thanks.

Hi,
this is where you need the QT development package, that is qt-devel. You will also need libjpeg-devel and kdelib-devel.

Hmmmm, now I am getting below error:

checking for KDE... configure: error:
in the prefix, you've chosen, are no KDE headers installed. This will fail.
So, check this please and use another prefix!

Could you tell me which packages or files I am missing here?

We are getting there.... Thanks.

This looks like you configured with the wrong prefix. Do "kde-config --prefix" to find your installation prefix, and then do "./configure --prefix=[prefix]" and then continue with make and so on.

 make error

I'm trying to install this theme on MDK 10.1. I find that the ./configure works with no problem, however the make throws errors:

In file included from Comix.cpp:23:
Comix.h:24:25: kdecoration.h: No such file or directory
Comix.h:25:32: kdecorationfactory.h: No such file or directory
In file included from Comix.cpp:23:

Comix.h:40: error: ISO C++ forbids declaration of `KDecoration' with no type
Comix.h:40: error: `KDecoration' declared as a `virtual' field
Comix.h:40: error: expected `;' before '*' token
Comix.h:46: error: incomplete type `COMIX::ComixHandler' used in nested name specifier

Similar errors are found in:
Comix.cpp and ComixClient.h

Does anyone know how to resolve these?

Hi,
you are missing kde base development headers. Have you got the package kdebase3-devel installed? If not please do so (plus kdelibs3-devel, qt-devel, xorg-x11-devel, jpeglib-devel). If you have these packages installed, please check your prefix "kde-config --prefix" and configure with this: "./configure --prefix=[prefix]".

Same thing happens here !

The wallpaper dissapears before logging in to kde (once kde finishes loading the wallpaper suddenly appears), and upon every log out.

You know, when you first posted I thought: that's one really weird thing.

But after compiling, packaging and installing comix-1.2.2 on my Conectiva 10 I started to have the same problem.
I guess that makes two of us now...

saludos

am ... it's even worse than what I thought ...

Actually, if a use the KDE control center to change to whatever theme and then back to Comix, the wallpaper will simply disappear, leaving me with an awfull white screen ...

Hi there,
i was not able to reproduce that bug by now. So please what's your setup: kde-config -v, X, type of wallpaper (png only?)? And any other special settings like tranclucent windows, menues, shadows or something?
Thanks

ambj@jacuma:~> kde-config -v
Qt: 3.3.3
KDE: 3.3.2
kde-config: 1.0
ambj@jacuma:~>

The background image is a jpeg, but I guess this is not the problem. Even if I select use a single color for background (No picture), the same white back screen appears. I had no such problem with comix 1.1.6.

 Great job

by SomeoneElse on: Feb 3 2005

first i wanna say you've done a great job, totally love it and looks great in both dark and light color schemes.

I just have 1 nasty problem, it crashes *guessing* on gtk2 tabs, using gtk-qt-engine from cvs (stable to) and whenever I open the options dialog in gkrellm or double click on torrents in azureus it just crashes.

only solution for that is to switch to another kde style or gtk style before starting gtk2 apps.

peace
