Description:

This software has been officially abandonded. The source tree I have locally is dramatically different than what I got here, other projects exist where it does a lot better job than I did. I did this project soley to learn to program in Qt and as such I didnt think this project would gain much popularity. Anyone is welcomed to contact me, I can give them the latest tarball as I do not wish to use cvs.

Any newer versions will be released and done using Cocoa (yes MacOS X) as I will no longer be using Linux as a desktop OS.

I think an important feature would be to generate pronouncable passwords, like the wallet application for Palm that I use (keyring - GPLed, check sf.net).

While I most often roll my own passwords (easy with a built-in cranium RNG ;-), a pronouncable secure password generator is handy to have around

What is a "pronounceable password"?
Is that a password that is made up of a word, or words, that would appear in a dictionary or is easy to spell?
If so, that is a very insecure password that would be quick and easy to crack/guess with a dictionary attack. That kind of password would not be secure, and the name of this app, is "Secure Password Generator".
Forgive me, but, if this is what is meant by "pronounceable password", then this is a feature you really would not want in a password generator as it would make the app useless and undesirable. Just my opinion.

I think a tool like pwgen does the job. The generated passwords are random and save, but you have a chance to remember them.

there can be choice. i know my program is in major development but there still is coke and pepsi, so choice is good.

I guess pronouncable in sense something like "lime$apple"? or more like "4agr8time"?

However, I dont know how secure that can be, I think a secure password thats easy to remember defeats the purpose. In my experience, using a root password similar to the ones generated from my app takes only a short amount of time to dedicate something totally nonesense into memory.
