Description:

Revolution and Righteousness:

Before sweeping the globe and giving bloody birth to the Cold War, American imperialism and capitalism created a utopia for itself in South America. CIA-appointed puppet governments insured that American corporations received a share of every take. Once great epicenters of South American culture became the tourist attractions of the pale skins. History was traded for consumerism. A great malaise descended upon the continent.

In this setting arose a man, a Marxist revolutionary, a blue-blooded Argentine allergist that would change the way guerilla war is waged. In fact, he would literally write the book on it. From the shores of Cuba to the jungles of the Congo, he crusaded against the horrors of imperialism and willed spirit back into the defeated people of the third world. He fanned a firestorm of rebellion that would ultimately defeat a super power and return the destiny of South America back into the hands of its children.

This warrior's name was Ernesto Guevara de la Serna - but his comrades prefer to use the name "Che".

 communism rulez!

Apparantly our capitalist friends have given up to fight over kde-look.org - all I can see is thi absurd George Bush (which probabyl even is ment as a joke). Shoudln't we make a unified theme collection of all the communist backgrounds (so one can rotate them) and the splash screen(s)?
Also, has anyone thought about making sound themes using the international or Societ anthomny for startup and shutdown?

Ernesto Guevara de la Serna was referred to as "Che" because of his "weak" oratation . He would use the expression "che" (we Americans use the expression "umm") constantly in his conversations. But, alas, he was a warrior and not a politician.

Che did not fight for communism, he was a warrior and he fought for the people. It is just too bad that communism is the result of his battle for Cuba. If you have ever been there, you would understand. By the way, I believe the total count of combatants during the battle/rebellion was less than 2000 men, not much of a battle by any stretch...Cubans have never been much for fighting.

While I do respect Che, I find his *Legend* and accomplishments to be GREATLY exaggerated. He is a warrior but has not performed the "duties" to be regarded as a national hero.

Dear Jesus,

Please re-read the original description. I never said Che "fought for communism", only that he, himself, was a Marxist, which is true. He fought to liberate people from oppressive imperialist/capitalist regimes.

I think I had this very image in a greyish background in one Linux box I managed.
This wasn't because of any personal feeling about Che, but because ours Linuxes are named after persons and characters born in or related to Rosario, Argentina.

Geez ...

What Planet are you guys on ?

Time you faced some unpalatable facts.

Che Geuvera was a cold blooded murderer.

No ifs ands or buts about it.

Even Castro denounced him.

And given that the Che was a qualified Doctor, makes his henious crimes against the poor (who wouldn't support his so called revolution in Bolivia) even more vile and despicable.

Time you guys grew up and stopped idiolizing a filthy mass murderer...
