Description:

KNemo - the KDE Network Monitor

A detailed review of the KNemo 0.4.7 can be found at Softpedia:
http://www.softpedia.com/reviews/linux/KNemo-Review-53310.shtml

KNemo offers a network monitor similar to the one found in Windows. For every network interface it displays an icon in the systray. It can also optionally montor traffic statistics.

Changelog:

Version 0.7.7

  • Add a global shortcut to toggle traffic plotters.

  • Find the interface of the default gateway again. (BR 328752)

  • Log statistics to the correct time if we're resuming from suspend. (BR 332086)

  • Fix translation word puzzles, missing contexts. (BR 329095, BR 329097)

  • Add an include to fix broken compilation when using libnl >= 3.2.26.

  • LicenseGPL

    Hi,

I still don't have KDE3.4 installed, so at the moment I cannot be of any help.

Maybe the easter holidays will give me the time to update my system... but I doubt that Gentoo packages are already available next weekend. :-(

There is nothing to be fixed...
Just compile knemo yourself, and it loads just fine (the pretty typical ./configure - make - sudo make install should suffice ).

Since I use KNemo, I always have poblem with kde-bluetooth.
If I plug in my bluetooth USB after login to KDE, there's no indication PopUp Messege that I have bluetooth device in my local pc. then I unplugged my device it said "Bluetooth Adapted was Unplugged"

But If I plugin my device before I Start Up My PC, seems like bluetooth adapter work properly.

    Hi,

not sure why the icons don't show up.
But you can do 2 things:

before compiling, you can exchange the the icons with the color you prefer..
    in the folder knemo-0.3.1/knemod/pics

after installation you can find the icons in /usr/share/icons/crystalsvg/22x22/actions
at least that is the case on my system..The only thing you have to do is to rename the icons since the name is different in this folder...
    I hope this helps....

    Cheers

This is a very nice application. It would be good to get it into base KDE.

Another good feature would be to auto-detect interfaces. e.g. When I use OpenVPN, a tun0 interface is added. It would be good if KNemo could automatically spot it and track it, without having to go into the configuration again. Maybe an option like "Automatically add new interfaces".
