Description:

audiokonverter is a service menu (and also a commandline utility) to easily convert from MP3, OGG, AMR, AAC, M4A, FLAC, WMA, RealAudio, Musepack, Wavpack, WAV and movies to MP3, OGG, M4A, WAV and FLAC in Konqueror by right-clicking on them. It needs ffmpeg/avconv, oggenc, oggdec, faac, faad, flac, mplayer and lame to work. id3lib is optional for full functionality. Also optional are vorbis-tools and metaflac for handling other metadata. See README how/where to get that software.
Be sure about needed software when installing prebuilt packages!

Please vote for "good" if you like the program. There are many downloads with each release, but only a few votes.

Changelog:

fix for ogg decoding

LicenseGPL
(Tarball)
Ubuntu(for kubuntu (KDE4))
SUSE(from Packman)
Debian(built with checkinstall for KDE3)
other(generic RPM for KDE residing in /usr for KDE3)

It would be good to have a screenshot of this, or if it's a command line program, to have a bit more information about it.

Any chance of a version that works in reverse. From MP3 to WAV. Like the other
comment, more info would be a help too.
Cheers

I can include the reverse, too. I already have it working on my system, just wait a couple of hours and I will polish it for release.

 Cool little helper

Good job on this!

What about including the possibility to convert all wavs in a folder? Or multiple file selection..

Greetings,

Martin

Don't believe the README ;-)
Multiple file selection should work (with parallel encoding). With directories you have to do recursion, that bears too many problems at the moment.

one newbie question:
Ogg workd, but not Mp3:

nice: lame: No such file or directory
why?

Otherwise it is a great tool, keep on with good work!

That is because you do not have lame installed, the mp3 encoder. (Propably due to legal issues.) So you should get it for your distribution if you want to make mp3s.

 To many servicemenus

I have already too many service menues. Specially with images. Could it ask you for the resolution later?
For instance, in the service menue you only have Convert to Ogg and Convert to Mp3. Clicking it you have a litle window for choosing between several qualities.

Just an idea.

Another solution would be to put all of them in a folder in the service menue. This looks simpler, but I like the first one more.

 Too many konsoles

Great idea, even greater since my k3b can't burn mp3:s ;-) One small thing though, when I select several file and want to convert them to wav it pops up one konsole for each file, wouldn't it be possible to send all files to one konsole?

I know this is a backdraw, but until now I did not find a way to make this work for filenames with spaces. When piping all filenames at once, the separator is a space...
Any hint how to do this is welcome.

You can burn Mp3 in K3b as data. They play in a standalone DVD player. So you know.

Replying to an almost three years old comment, nice;-)

The problem with k3b and mp3 had something to do with mixing debs from woody and broken backports, or something, so you know.
