Description:

!!!Important update!!

I've always thought we're all here open-minded and kind people. Seems like I was wrong.

Today I've received a letter from a man called Yassen Pavlov smack@vip.bg with the following text:

"I just wanted to let you know that I can't believe what an bitch you are. You asked for the guy who was maintaining the project you abandoned to give you admin rights and you never showed up again since he did so. Not even once... Thank you very much for that. I hope you'll die from cancer."

Well thanks a lot Yassen, this is what I actually need right now being a young mom with a little kid on my hands. See now, I'm here, are you happy?

OK, now to the point. I've switched to MacOS completely and have no platform to develop and test this script. It was a good experience and it was fun. I actually did not ever expected it would be such a success. But now I have to pass it over to somebody who wants to continue this development.
Please contact me jinjiru at jinjiru dot com if you want to take this project to your hands.

Mount ISO Image is an advanced script which allows to perform multiple operations with ISO, NRG (Nero Burning ROM), UDF (DVD), CUE/BIN, CCD/IMG/SUB (CloneCD), XDVDFS (XBOX) and MDF images.
Mount/unmount operations can be performed in two different ways: using kdesu or sudo. During the installation you'll be offered to choose a variant to use.
Note: If you prefer to use sudo, you should first choose to "Setup sudo config" in installation menu.

Translations
------------
- German (by Markus Bloch)
- Italian (by marcosegato)
- Russian (by Jinjiru)
- Serbian (by Mladen Pejaković)
- Spanish (by Javier Ariza Rodríguez & Alberto Garcia)
- Turkish (by Atilla Öntaş)

If you submit translations, please, send them within the utf-8 text file to prevent encoding mistakes! All non utf translations will not be considered!

Bugs and translations
----
I really need your help with translations and feature requests - please send them pejakm at gmail dot com. If you sent any translations or suggestions some time ago - please resend them!
If you find any errors please do not hesitate to report them. If you have any suggestions or want to contribute in any manner - you're always welcome!

Important Notice!!!

Since this project appears to be abandoned, administrators have gave moderation control over this project to me, pejakm. I intend to continue and to improve this script as good as I can. If the original authors decide to continue their work I will happily give them this back.

 XBOX Iso ?

by Knewbie on: May 23 2004

Score 50%

Hi, I'm using the tool right now and it is indeed usefull.

Do you think you can add the XBOX iso format, so as to be able to mount them easily...?

there is no "easy way" in doing xbox iso manipulation that is except downloading a small fs patch and mount -loop the whole thing, or, more easily done, people use extract-xiso on an ISO to extract it physically...

Can you see if you can integrate it ? would be damn usefull to me, since I tried to turn to an all Linux shop, and most tools I use have no counterpart (especially the free XBOX iso Transfer from xbox-scene.com)

Yes, I think it might be worth including in our next release. We were already considering this anyway but just didn't know if it was useful to anybody at all - now I'm most positive about XBOX format support so stay tuned, there might be a surprise for you in 0.9 ;-)

As per your request, we have preliminary XBOX image support in v0.9. Currently only creating images is supported since I couldn't find the patch you were referring to for mounting them as loop devices. I can throw in XDVDFS image extract support 'for free' - the only thing that stops me is that our script is *Mount*-ISO, y'know? So this feature is left until someone (wink-wink) requests it.
Thank you for your interest in our project! We always listen to words of our users.

Yes Yes Yes Yes....that would be so nice!!
I'm hasseling with windows at the moment and this would sure get rid of that.

anybody have a commandline for dd to get a *.nrg dvd-image to *.iso dvd-image? I know how to get cd-nero-images to iso.

Oh...and by the way. The nrg2iso-program would be nicer if it didn't try to "read" the file....

Sorry for beeing rude and off-topic
Thanx & have fun!

 I love it, but...

You could make it a bit easier to install the other apps you need to make it work, or at least include all the links.
You still have to wrong link for ccd2iso on your homepage. http://sourceforge.net/projects/ccd2iso
Perhaps including the links in the readme file, or a download script for them in the installer?
Otherwise it is a great app, just a few installation issues.

Installing 3rd party applications is beyond the scope of our install script - rpms, debs, tarballs etc - it varies greatly on different systems where KDE is used so there could be no unified way to install them.
As for our homepage - yes, it has not yet been updated for the latest release as I don't have access to it at the moment, sorry, but I assure you it will be fixed by the end of the day. However, you're welcome to use README included in our package and also this page which have all the correct links for optional utilities (and it is specifically noted there that installing listed utils is left as an excercise for the user).
I thank you for your interest in our project and I'm sure your critics will help us make it even better.

So, you are right, now I see the links in the Readme. Reading it in konsole the formating was a bit off so I did not see them. Since installing the extra modules is too much what about just makeing it easier to download the tar balls? Press 8 to download extra module or something like that? I guess that I am a bit spoiled with Debian were I don't have to hunt down depandacies as much. ;)

I've got your point. It seems like a good idea - we'll see if this will be feasible to introduce this feature (maybe in v1.0). Thank you and stay tuned - we'll surprise you!

Your 'Thank you' is twice as nice to hear - it's great that Mount-ISO is working as expected in SuSE, because we got a number of reports from SuSE 9.0 users who complained about some weird problems - I think, I shall advise them to upgrade to v9.1 ;-)

Hmm, that's weird... But do you have the file ~/.kde/share/apps/konqueror/servicemenus/mountiso.desktop? If it exists, would you please send it to me by email (see my profile for mail address)?

Could you please check if there is the file ~/.kde/share/apps/konqueror/servicemenus/mountiso.desktop (or, if you installed systemwide, look in global kde folder)? If it exists, could you please send it to me by email linux@jinjiru.ru? I'll try to find out what the problem is :)
