Description:

Hi...

I'm here to ask some modifications of the plugin the manage the exposé effect. (I don't know if it is the right place where to put my modifications)

Would be cool to add a plugin called "hot spots"... to manage the zones of the desktop and link some actions.

I mean:
now the expose' pluging can be triggered by the mouse action... is fantastic, but can be extended.

can we (you) write a plugin to manage these zones (angles..) and link to them some configurable actions...?

Configurable actions: (everything!)

- show dashboard/hide dashboard (toggle)
- show desktop / return windows gone
(every visible window go out of the screen) (toggle)
- minimize visible/ maximize minimized(toggle)
- lock session
- ...
- your fantasy
- many others
- dcop commands...
- command line programs, scripts...

I'm a mac user at work and I use really often the "show desktop" ( mouse upper right corner)
and the "windows presentation effect" (the grid with all windows active) (mouse lower right)

With this setting I think I've improved my productiviy and I feel that could be a good move to add it.

Can someone link me a discussion about it, the mail of the developper or a forum where to talk about this plugin?
I've downloaded the code but is too difficult for a simple Actionscript-xhtml writer :P

I think you could send link to this for kde mail-list, you can find many different list address from http://kde.org/mailinglists/

Altough, I suggest that you write wish for bugs.kde.org.

If you write to mailing list, if possible dont add attachments but just link to this, and explain your idea.

Even better if you first search around bugs.kde.org site if you find open wish for this and if you do, add your vote there. Best way is to add wish for KDE4 if not found, so it can be registered officially.

I wish that this kind operations can be added sooner or later, and I think those will come.
If you find something from bugs.kde.org site, post it address here so others can vote it too ;-)

KDE is made for users by users....
What can you give back to others?

Hmm... seems like interesting. Although, this feature won't be implemented now just due to string freeze before KDE4.1 release. =(
And another way to ask for it - #kde chanell on irc.freenode.org. Well, it's not really an option, but just to ask some quick questions. Or get some quick answers on your questions.

Anyway, good idea.

How could anyone be so precise to move the mouse on the 1x1 pixel sized area on the centre of the screen?

The corner hotspots are OK though.

1x1 in a corner is easy to catch :D

the dimensions and the appereance (totally transparent or skinned) could be configurable on width and height.
