Oops! Sorry for forgetting the dependency on the Device::Modem perl module. I've added that step in the instructions...

2) Install Device::Modem package for Perl. You can either use your distro packages for this, or install through CPAN as:
cpan -i Device::Modem

Hi,

are you going to add support for K800i. This version ends with error code 9 on line 67.

Thank you.

The K800's AT commands set differs from the supported models, and I couldn't find any documentation on the Sony Ericsson Developer website about the K800's command set (all the supported models have documented command sets here -> http://developer.sonyericsson.com/getDocument.do?docId=65054). If you could locate any such documentation for the K800, I'd be glad to add support for it.

 Error Code 29

by dek on: Jan 6 2007

Score 50%

Hi,

i'm trying to get this script running. After installing the missing Perl modules and binding the device, it fails with error code 29:

Failed to add menu entry at /home/me/.kde3.5/share/apps/amarok/scripts/MobileRemoteSE/MobileRemoteSE.pl line 37.

Any ideas what could be going wrong? Do i have to activate something on the cell phone (haven't found anything like that)? I'm using a W810i.

I have the same problem. Im running Ubuntu 6.10, and the phone is a k750i.

I think I have followed the instructions...

But anyways, if there is some help out there I'll be very happy :)

Did you bind /dev/rfcomm0 to the serial-over-bluetooth channel (3 for my W810i)?
Using bluez-utils this worked for me:
rfcomm bind 0 XX:XX:XX:XX:XX:XX 3

 Asks for internet

When I run the script, my W800i says that my computer is asking for Internet access.
Answering no, I get this:

Could not open /var/log/modem.log to start logging at /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.8/Device/Modem/Log/File.pm line 49.
cannot log error *FAILED* connect on /dev/rfcomm0 to file: Connection refused at /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.8/Device/Modem/Log/File.pm line 106.
No connection with port /dev/rfcomm0! at /home/kristian/.kde/share/apps/amarok/scripts/MobileRemoteSE/MobileRemoteSE.pl line 31.

Answering yes, a little time passes, and then I get this:

Could not open /var/log/modem.log to start logging at /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.8/Device/Modem/Log/File.pm line 49.
can't getattr: Input/output error at /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.8/Device/Modem.pm line 477
cannot log error *FAILED* connect on /dev/rfcomm0 to file: Input/output error at /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.8/Device/Modem/Log/File.pm line 106.
No connection with port /dev/rfcomm0! at /home/kristian/.kde/share/apps/amarok/scripts/MobileRemoteSE/MobileRemoteSE.pl line 31.

Any clues on what's happening?
