nah.. he's just sitting on top of him.. ya know, as in GNU/Linux .. here's the COW/Tux

Oh, and just in case the joke is not obvious, the guy in the corner is Stallman,
the man who is constantly trying to get Linux to be renamed "GNU/Linux".

He has never tried to rename the linux operating system as there is no linux operating system. Linux is a kernel, nothing more.

Linus wrote the kernel and can name it whatever the hell he wants. The userland, however, was developed (largely) by the gnu project. Stop giving Linus credit for something he didn't do.

As a note you could just as accurately call it linux/gnu but thats a bit awkward to say. In fact since the GNU OS bits run on top of linux its more accurate.

An acclaimed hacker, his major accomplishments include Emacs (and the later GNU Emacs), the GNU C Compiler, and the GNU Debugger. He is also the author of the GNU General Public License (GNU GPL or GPL), the most widely-used free software license, which pioneered the concept of the copyleft.
